recycled this morning, this is on top of whatever your monthly limit is. I recycled my monthly 20 ink limit (400 pts each) + this promo 10 ink (500 pts each) = got the13,000 pts on ink recycling already

Dang... So that means $65 a month? I forgot to do more last month. Are you a Plus member?

Edit: Nvm... you're getting 400 pts per cart so it's $2 each meaning you're Plus member.

Every time this deal comes up, I hear it both ways- that it's in addition to the 20, or it's part of the 20. I called Staples CSRs and that, of course, added only more confusion as they are not trained on the promo.

I'm glad you're reporting extra rewards on top, but this term gives me pause:

"Staples will accept additional eligible items for recycling, but points will only be issued for up to the monthly limit."

The offers cannot be stacked. You should recycle 30 or 20 + 10 (this is what I did last month) to get the full value. This is assuming that you are Plus.

I recycled some yesterday and the pro tip from the manager at my store was to do the battery/electronics recycling first in separate transaction, then recycle the ink jet cartridges in second transaction, that way the inkjet doesn't get counted as the battery recycle reward.

I haven't done the 'regular' ink recycling in a while. Don't they still require you to spend a certain amount on ink/toner within a certain time period to qualify your 'regular' ink recycling?

Can't remember the last time I needed to purchase ink/toner. So, would it still be worth doing Staples' regular ink recycling (in addition to these special offers)?

No, they got rid of that requirement several months ago.

I still have probably 500 or so cartridges in my garage - but stopped going to the store on a monthly basis once the program was changed. Lost Plus status on one account when they cancelled the credit card, and couldn't see paying for it on a second account.

That being said, is recycling still worth it? No minimum spend? No expiration date on the points? Can you still get Plus status by paying, and if so, how much is the annual fee?

TIA.

You can check your free rewards account to see how much they give for ink recycling on your specific account -- mine is only 100pts each (50 cents) up to 10/mo so not worth it for me (stopped recycling earlier this year but I only had a few dozen ink left)

You can do these bonus ink recycling offers when they come around (using mine up on those) -- last month and this month its 5k pts ($25) for 10 ink plus you can still recycle your regular monthly amount on top (you have plenty to recycle)

You can do bonus ink offer once more early Oct -- you can bank the pts for a big purchase

Do my Easy Rewards points expire?
Points don't expire so long as your Easy Rewards member account is active. For an account to remain active, a member must earn or redeem at least one point in an 18-month period.

NOTE: I was told at my store yesterday they were only sent 20 packs of the free pens to give out, assume that's all stores. They had 2 left (1 left) after I showed up.

If that's the case nationwide, don't get your hopes up getting free pens. Also be aware the stores are also very busy now on weekends and after school with kids/parents getting school supplies in many areas, so be prepared to wait on line if you go during peak times.

Signed up for a new account to take advantage of this 5k pts ($25) for 10 ink. I only see 100pts each for regular recycling. If I only recycle 10-inks, will it count towards the bonus offer of 5k pts ($25) for 10 ink or the regular offer of 100 points? Thanks.
