It looks fun, but talk about leaving a nasty mess behind. Nerf is careful not to mention any environmental details on their site. At the very best, these are sodium polyacrylate based, which is not something I want all over my yard. How about you? It's like shooting orbeez and leaving them all over the yard.

The same product is used as a soil additive to increase the soil moisture retention so I don't think it's really any sort of a problem

Between this and the battery powered ones. Get the battery, these bolt action ones aren't nearly as fun.
