- Run 1-2lbs of crappy beans through it before trying it. You'll know its broken in when it stops producing watery pucks consistently. It will eventually produce good pucks, but seriously give it 1-2lbs first. I did it in 1 sitting, just kept pumping out shots as I learned how to adjust settings.
- Only change the grind size while it's grinding. Super weird but that was in the manual.
- The internals are essentially the same as the Philips $1000 machines. Its the drink types, frother and a little more possible customizations. (You get 3 options for temp, 3 options for bean strength and I believe 3 options for amount of water but I want to say there is a customization for amount of water but I haven't gone back to figure it out)
- You are supposed to grease the brew group every 1-2 months ish, which is not very common with superautos apparently.
- The water filter does not come with this, its $15/ea - but not needed for it to work. - The 5,000 cups before cleaning the machine is by using 8 filters - so 1 filter does not hold you over for 5,000 cups, you need 8. Seems gimmicky that it isn't clearly mentioned anywhere without digging. So ~$120 to save from cleaning a few extra times with a tablet/liquid. Undecided if it's worth it, especially on a $300 machine?
- This is the same as the philips 1200, just without the chrome trimmings in some places.
Current settings seem to be working good so far, but still playing with them, adjusting weekly to rank them as we go -

Coming from a Breville Express that is ~8-10 years old, This is just easy to pump out a hit of espresso. It's consistent and no tamping, grinding, leveling etc. Turn it on, wait 30secs for it to warm up and do a double of espresso. The convenience is totally worth it for us. Still tastes better than the bought drinks.
Manual frother works fast and better than I expected. Most complaints online about the frother is that the bubbles are larger than they should be?...I'm not picky, give me my caffeine and I'm happy.
coffee without milk then this is a good deal. Tastes much better than k-cups. If you like lattes, etc, get one with the easy auto frother. imo

I've had a couple of different brand superautomatics and all require a little oil or grease.
