(In contrast to the 12oz model with the spill-resistant silicone straw lid)
For those interested in obtaining straw bottle lids associated with the 12oz models to use with the 16oz model (in lieu of the spout lid) take note of the following instructions:
Replacement Funtainer lids are available from Thermos for $2.00 each plus a shipping and handling charge. The shipping charge is $3.00 for up to a $5.00 purchase. The shipping cost will increase by $0.50 for each additional $5.00 purchased. Delivery times are 7 to 10 business days within the continental US and 10 to 14 business days to Canada, Alaska, and Hawaii. Shipping times to Guam and Puerto Rico may take up to 21 business days.
Thermos accepts several methods of payment: all major credit cards, check or money order. To place an order for a replacement lid, contact the Thermos consumer service department at 1-800-831-9242 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday. You may also place your order via email by sending your request to [email protected] and providing your name, mailing address, phone number and credit card number along with the expiration date. You may also mail a money order or check for your replacement part to: Thermos LLC, 355 Thermos Rd, Batesville, MS 38606.
When placing your order please include the preferred lid color and model number. The model number is located on the inside base of the product. The current style included with 12oz straw bottles is F410 with a handle that sits external to the lid assembly. The older style is F401 where the handle is flush with the lid when down. Personally, I've found the newer design to be sturdier, whereas the integral handle seemed to have a greater tendency to eventually get snapped out/off.
Note that the lids ship with a silicone straw(!) but without the straw attachment. However, since the 12oz straws won't reach the bottom of the 16oz bottles I've adapted straws from other drinking cups (most notably, the free T-Mobile tumblers).
Good luck!
Jon
