Is this overkill for a htpc? Won't play too many games but want to use this to stream (esp home videos) to my epson 4k projector.

Specs look decent on it . Just needs an extra hard drive for storage but thinking of picking one up for emulating ps1,ps2 etc games . Already have a much better computer for the game room but this would be good for my bedroom area

Very overkill. You only need a small mini pc to play/stream videos... They'll use a fraction of the power and size as this does.
