If the vehicle that needs a jump start and the battery is still able to take a charge; these should be more than adequate. Connect the cables and let the depleted battery charge for a minute or so. It takes a lot more power to get the engine to start turning and putting some charge into the depleted battery should be enough to overcome the initial power draw. Vehicles I have driven for the past 20+ years start quickly; basically a flick of the key.

Had a dead battery tonight and had to borrow a set. For $10 i'm ordering a pair to keep in each vehicle.

*I have a jump pack thanks to a past SD but didn't have it in the family minivan.

Got mine yesterday. Took a look at the wire it's 8 gauge as advertised. If you're looking to jump start a big diesel truck you should be looking for a set of 1 or larger wires. I successfully jumped a jeep using my little Honda once but I had to let it run for about 20 minutes.

These are jumper cables it's just some copper wire and alligator clamps. In a normal application you can sustain 40 amps safely. If your vehicle requires 800 cranking amps you have a massive engine and should be buying a massive cable. But if your need a set for the back of your sedan. These are a great buy

This costs $10, a super capacitor jump box costs $100 (or more).
Yes. But I in no way referred to the $10 jumper cables. I was responding to someone who was talking about lithium battery packs, which was a separate discussion point.

Did you mean 4 gauge rather than 8 gauge?

this is a great price for what it is. You wouldn't be able to buy the equivalent 6 or even 8 gauge in pure copper near this price

These don't work. The cables got hot and there was not enough current reaching the other car. I ended up taking out a good battery and flipping it upside down to make a connection with the dead car and that worked instantly, proving that these cables are scheisse!
Returned them back to the store. Don't buy these!
