I'm aware now that $80 copper cables are better, but I have never had a problem and bought two of these for $20 for the very rare time I need them. These will replace two cheaper old pairs that are still working fine.
Edit: To clarify, that was over 5yr ago, they could have improved quality wise, luckily I don't need to jump my car very often but when I did need them, they didn't work.
I've actually used my jumper pack a few times. Once on myself but a couple times on my mowers and
4 wheelers.

For those wanting pure copper cables, all you need is a time machine. I got these from a post here on SD a few years ago. The still go everywhere with me and ooze with quality.

While the chance is low, you can cause damage to your car when jumping. Way too many electronics in new cars to risk it. You can get them from $30-$50.
Also, it lets you jump yourself and not wait on a good samaritan lol.
Yeah I'm surprised more people don't go with the ones that use an array of super capacitors instead of batteries. They don't long term store a charge, instead they get a trickle charge from whatever power is remaining in your car battery (as long as it's not completely dead) and gathers enough for a jump. Alternately, you can charge it via USB, car accessory outlet, another working car battery, etc. The power stored then slowly discharges after use. Withstands extreme temperatures better than a traditional battery pack from what I recall as well.

Yeah, they will be a bit pricier, the cheapest one I see regularly is at Costco at around $60, but if I was stranded in a Walmart parking lot, busy city or airport parking, that would be money well spent. But also wouldn't hurt to have a set of jumper cables as well. Just don't be like my buddy in Highschool and put black on black, red on red, then do black on red and red on black. Smoke show.
