I have an Intel CPU, am I affected?
Intel says that only socketed desktop 13th and 14th Gen CPUs are affected.
Intel claims that 13th - 14th Gen HX/H/P/U mobile CPUs are not affected.
If you have any other generation of Intel CPU, for example Intel Core Ultra (Meteor Lake), 12th Gen (Alder Lake), 11th Gen (Rocket Lake), 10th Gen (Comet Lake) or any other generation of Intel CPU, Intel says these CPUs are not affected.
Also they were asking the GPU wattage not the wattage of the power brick.

How can you trust Intel after years of hiding the problem with 13 and 14 gen? I would never touch Intel forever. AMD makes better processors nowadays anyway. Intel lost my trust.
there have been some reports that laptop cpus are affected as well. Intel has not admitted it but who knows?

I reinstalled Windows 11 to get rid of the extra software Acer installs at the factory. With a fresh install of the operating system, I am getting six hours of battery time without making any additional tweaks. I was getting about 30 minutes less battery life with the default Acer installation. I also tried the laptop with Pop!_OS Linux, and it worked fine. Battery life with Linux seemed about the same as Windows 11. The only issue was having to add some additional software to enable the webcam. Information about that is here:

I'm planning to install a second drive and move Windows 11 to it. The drive that came with the laptop will be used for a permanent installation of Pop!_OS. I'm not a gamer, and my use for this laptop is as a general purpose Linux system with Windows 11 as an alternate boot for when I need to process photos while traveling. This model has an IPS panel with 100% SRGB. I think for my purposes, this is a good solution.
