My thoughts after a year of playing and introducing others.
If you are new to racquet sports and just want to hit around with friends, a <$20 amazon, walmart, target fiberglass paddle will suffice. Even at 4 paddles with balls for ~$50 is fine. It gets the family and friends outdoors and provides entertainment. Great for kids, friends, or family weekend. I was proficient enough with racquet sports to keep up and play a decent game but noticed my drops, spins, and control were limited by my paddle. My kids still use these and damage them all the time. These are great for introducing new players. Stay away from wooden ones. The are loud, vibrate, and deter you from wanting to play more. If its free from a promotion or something, thats fine. I would not spend any money on wooden ones.
If you enjoy it and want to do spin, power, drops etc. a <$50 paddle works well.
Temu/Aliexpress/Juciao -Raw carbon fiber paddle works just as well and provides the features you need to advance, learn, and make meaningful improvements.
Friday pickleball is another brand that offers 2 for $100. Great spin, pop, decent power. This will hold you for quite some time and even work as a backup paddle. Great customer service, good return policy. You can even borrow for "90" days if you would like to see if you like the game. Downside of Temu/Ali paddles is the vendor and quality control issues. You have to deal with questionable vendors in China and hope for an ability to return. I purchased a carbon fiber face paddle only have an image of carbon fiber fabric laminated onto the face. My credit card refunded me the money. There are a lot of knock off vendors in that market place. The Juciao paddles started off as a knock off brand, but now is turning into a more legitimate paddle company (but also cost more now). Friday will at least QAQC and let you return if you are unhappy. The Friday and Juciao paddles easily rival paddles in the $150 range.

If you can identify your technical strength/weakness during games, you would probably be in the $100+ range. You find paddles that correct for what you lack or want to amplify. As you get better most people move away from large sweet spots and focus on power or control. Players often own many different paddles to be able to switch their play style (unless you are that good and consistent).
I currently use a selkirk invikta power air as my primary to smash and have faster hands. My secondary/fun paddle is a $40 Juciao from temu. Whenever I feel I'm off my game or want to switch it up i use this paddle. It is also fun to try something different and make you focus on different aspects of your game. Currently looking to pick up a Friday paddle as well after demoing one. Great bang for your buck for $50. Some will not crack but develop many small fissures. Depends on how hard they are hit, weather, and play style.
I give my cracked balls to my kids to hit around, play fetch with my dog, and tie to a string and use it for practice.
Saves the headache of dealing with more bills. Unless you're doing app transactions. In which case some may not even have an account with a money transfer app.
I don't know, whatever seems to work for you, just a suggestion.
For $3.75 for a 3 pack, this is a great deal. This is the go-to ball at any local court, don't let the "pros" tell you otherwise.

Tennis players have no problem cracking open a fresh can of balls every time they play (and that's 3 balls, not one), but somehow in pickleball people will keep balls around for a week or more with daily play if they don't see a crack or an out of round ball.

I changed the handles but they play well enough for me. I go like 4-5 days a week for 3 hours. Living in San Francisco area we get about 65 degree on average weather and great conditions.
I also recommend pickleball paddles off of AliExpress as the dink for the pop (pun) is there. I can hang with the people at my courts who all went out and spent $200+ on paddles.

I had two friends purchase 3 of these paddles from temu. Two were from the same vendor, one was a different print. All three felt different in terms of weight distribution (top heavy, evenly distributed etc). And ultimately their sweet spot and pop. I think they are fine to use and better than fiberglass paddles. But they would be difficult to replicate/repurchase/recommend to a friend due to so many knocks offs out there.
