I have to disagree with you there. I have 64 devices connected to four LN1301s in a router + mesh network and performance has been decent and stable for nearly a week now. I have 16 IP cameras streaming 1080p video 24/7 as well. (Half of them via Ethernet bridging with the mesh nodes)

Mind you that I only have 100Mbps Spectrum internet but I do stream/direct play 4k videos from a Plex media server to several Amazon Firestick 4k devices without issue. Overall IMO you would be hard pressed to find such relatively decent hardware for so cheap; especially a Mesh network.

It wasn't all smooth at first mind you. I kept getting disconnects; especially with the streaming IP cameras. But I discovered by disabling Express Forwarding all my streaming issues went away. (CA>Connectivity>Administration>Express Forwarding)

I'm guessing that Cisco's/Linksys' proprietary Express Forwarding routing protocol was causing havoc with the IP cams streaming capabilities. Also, disabling Node Steering seemed to make things more stable as well; mesh nodes no longer disconnect from the router when Node Steering is disabled. (CA>Wi-Fi Settings>Advanced>Node Steering)
User feedback across two years indicates better performance with all three off. Express forwarding seems to negatively affect streaming. Node steering interferws with Google Home and Apple Homekit. Client steering slows connection down if you have more than one router.

Of course, user experience can vary so feel free to experiment. if the routers are giving you problems, try turning these features off and see if it works
Still waiting for mine to ship from the last $15 deal. Just checked and Woot says SEPT 13. Hasn't even shipped yet.

It's not a deal if you never receive it.

Are these better than TP-Link Deco X60 Wi-Fi 6 AX3000 , I have 3 in a mesh.

It really isn't that hard to do. You just end up double NATed with the second router behind the first one. Might be a little tricky if you are using these Linksys for both meshes and I'm not sure how well the setup will handle things when for example you are trying to add the nodes to the second router. Worst case I'd say hook one router up to your modem and get everything setup then disconnect that and repeat the process. To make sure things work correctly you'll want to change the IP range for the second network. So if the first one defaults to 192.168.1.1-255 you can do the second one as 192.168.2.1-255 or you could got to a 10.1.1.1-255. I believe the router does that automatically if it see it getting a 192.168 address on the WAN port like when it's the second router.

My question would be why do you want to separate mesh networks? That's a lot of wireless channels in use for all the different networks. There might be some way to accomplish what you want without having to setup two wireless mesh networks.

I have a small 3-D printer farm. Three Bambu. Bambu runs all their stuff through clouds and people don't like that. For business hygiene reasons I want to keep my design efforts secure from the start. I'd like it to be on its own separate when network and yet be able to be on the Internet to get updates when it's safe.

Also, I'm inclined to have my security cam network on a separate network then other things . I'm not even sure why I want that. I'm too tired right now to tell you. Maybe it's because I haven't set up routers in a sophisticated way for a couple decades and I want to figure out some things.

Can you give a link to the exact instructions for that I'm feeling a little bit helpless at the moment, even though I'm quite capable of this sort of thing.

Received the Woot $15 one.
Set it as AP to current Asus AX86U and looks ok.

Just found the Woot one is "Linksys MX4300 (LN1301)",
but this OP one is also LN1301, but "AX4200".

Which one is wrong? Or AX4200==MX4300 ?
Both are correct. AX4200 means that the transfer speed is up to 4200Mbps or 4.2Gbps via the ax protocol. Regardless of brand and manufacturers, you can see these expression AX4200, AX6000, etc. The number after AX means the maximum transfer speed.
MX4300 is the different model number like LN1301.
Linksys changed the firmware only and then changed the model name from MX4300 to LN1301.

These aren't necessarily a good upgrade. These are just a slam dunk if you want to make a cheap good network and don't have one already. Or your stuff is getting old or you don't have a mesh network and custom firmware doesn't scare you.

About to pull the trigger but want to know more about the usb port. From what I read, it's non-functional stock but might be able to unlock with dd-wrt/openwrt. Can someone confirm if it can be unlocked?

I want to plug an external drive to the usb to use it for an occasional media server. But not on all the time.
Yes, USB can be unlocked with OpenWRT as there are tons of users who can vouch for it. Smilie

I want to make two separate mesh networks that are completely separate from each other yet both have Internet. I don't want to pay for two Internet lines. Is there a way to have two separate networks use one Internet line? If anyone knows how to do this, please tell me the terms and I'll Google them myself and figure it out. Thanks in advance for anyone who helps.

I agree with "kpb321", what I am suggesting is just another method to achieve the same results.

Connect a managed Ethernet switch to the internet coming into your place.
Create 3 VLANs namely VLAN10 VLAN20 and VLAN30 (when you google to know more about creating VLAN, you will know how to keep the sub-net separate like kpb321 suggested)
Now, you can connect 3 separate networks to each of the VLANs. Those 3 networks can be just one router each or those 3 can be 3 mesh networks, it doesn't matter at that point.

This setup will give you flexibility, for example in the future you have one Printer in the network VLAN30 and wanted one PC in the VLAN10 to access you will be able to do that. If you don't want complexity, you can simply leave after the initial setup and you will have 3 networks independent of each other from one single Internet connection.

N00b question here - can I buy this to replace the Comcast router I'm renting monthly - and can I attach a tp-link mesh network to it to extend my network?

Yes. You don't want to use the one they give you anyway because you failed to return it they will charge you and if you aren't around to notice it will go in your credit score.

By default, if you connect the Linksys to another router that is managing 192.168.2.x, it will choose 10.y.1.1 (y will change if you reset the device).

Regarding Express Forwarding, I assume you use it as a router and not as an AP? When you're running tests, always make sure it is in AP mode. Once you are satisfied with the result and performance, only then should you turn it into router mode if you choose, or follow the framework of an enterprise setup and have a dedicated router to handle IP translation/firewall/routing/dhcp/etc.

Stop giving ugly terrible advice. There's a lot more in a 2-in-1 "cable model/wifi router". First and most important feature of this 2-in-1 device is to convert coaxial signal into electrical signal that an ethernet network can understand and transmit.
