Mind you that I only have 100Mbps Spectrum internet but I do stream/direct play 4k videos from a Plex media server to several Amazon Firestick 4k devices without issue. Overall IMO you would be hard pressed to find such relatively decent hardware for so cheap; especially a Mesh network.
It wasn't all smooth at first mind you. I kept getting disconnects; especially with the streaming IP cameras. But I discovered by disabling Express Forwarding all my streaming issues went away. (CA>Connectivity>Administration>Express Forwarding)
I'm guessing that Cisco's/Linksys' proprietary Express Forwarding routing protocol was causing havoc with the IP cams streaming capabilities. Also, disabling Node Steering seemed to make things more stable as well; mesh nodes no longer disconnect from the router when Node Steering is disabled. (CA>Wi-Fi Settings>Advanced>Node Steering)
Of course, user experience can vary so feel free to experiment. if the routers are giving you problems, try turning these features off and see if it works
It's not a deal if you never receive it.

But I do worry that I will not be able to troubleshoot any issues / connectivity without the lights.
Long story. I previously set up 3 units on my network, 1 main as an AP and 2 child nodes. Pretty straightforward following the directions. I wanted to add another unit as an AP on a different subnet to the other 3. Set it up exactly the same as the first main unit. Connected it to a standalone laptop, logged in, set static IP, set bridge mode, rebooted, light was blue. Then connected and enabled child nodes. All lights blue. Moved to location, turned on. All lilghts blue. Logged onto Linksys app, and it recognzed the network. Done. New unit, did the same - static IP, bridge mode, rebooted. light is solid purple. Moved to location, worked as bridge, light is solid purple. Logged into linksys app, cannot find the unit. Many factory resets, no change. Tried factory reset, connected to wireless network, cannot find unit. Read carefully, factory reset, connect to WAN, turned off my other 3 linksys units, logged into default wireless network, found the unit! set up unit in the app (not web page) and rebooted. Light turned blue, But wireless connection often kept spinning and connection not made. rebooted many times and still had issues. So I did a manual firmware flash using the same version firmware. Wireless stable, light blue, accessible also on web using IP, everything works! Turned on my other 3 linksys, and both nodes show up in the linksys app. So for people who are having issues, you might want to try a manual firmware flash. You can google the firmware and manual flashing it is under the CA menu of connectivity. So my conclusion is that not all these units work as well as others. If you are having issues, you might consider a firmware flash. BTW, it doesnt change the settings.
Does the mesh do anything useful for those on wired backhaul as opposed to just setting each up separately as bridges? I'm quite familiar with what enterprise APs can do with appropriate AP coordination but I'm unclear if these actually do some coordination/handoff. If it's useful to make them in mesh mode, it sounds like one needs to be connected as the parent node with it's connectivity to my home network switching both via the WAN and LAN port so that the WAN port will be the bridged uplink and the LAN port will connect (via switches) to the child nodes? From the prior posts, it's clear what to do with any units I choose to have wireless backhaul. Can someone with some networking expertise clarify how the mesh works in a larger installation with switches rather than direct connections between the parent/child nodes?
I believe if you turn these all into individual dummy AP units you will lose this and just have competing Wifi signals. It will be up to your device to choose. So it may be a little bit slower. Maybe someone else can chime in.
I don't know if the LN1301 has support in openWRT for DFS or if it has hardware support at all, but picking a non-DFS channel will avoid that.
Thanks. I switched to channel 153 and now it's working. I am near a military base so it makes sense DFS might have caused my radio to disable itself.

Wired mesh unit:
- 93.7 Mbps Down
- 51.7 Mbps Up
- 524 Mbps LAN speed
- 29 ms latency
- 4 ms jitter
Wireless mesh unit:- 90.5 Mbps Down
- 35.8 Mbps Up
- 488 Mbps LAN speed
- 26 ms latency
- 4 ms jitter
---Also the Wifiman app is pretty fun. Like I said you can watch the mesh handoffs as they happen.

The Linksys firmware available elsewhere is version 1.0.4.215382. When I am able to use the IP address in a browser, the address looks something like http://192.168.1.xxx/ui/1.0.4.215...ogi
What I am getting is http://192.168.1.xxx/ui/1.0.99.215382/dynamic/login.html . This is happening on both devices I've so far tested. What version of the firmware could this possibly be? If I flashed 1.0.4.215382, might I be losing something that I can't get back? If I'm barking up the wrong tree, I'll be relieved, but this is weird.

I got 2 of these set up yesterday in mesh mode (wired backhaul - one parent and one child node) and I'm blown away. 2300sqft home and I have strong WiFi signal everywhere I go.
Curious why and when a bridge setup would make more sense vs a mesh setup.
Thanks for the clarification!

Not going to bother with DDR or Open-WRT because I don't use USB ports, already have VPN software and Ad blocker.
1). On the parent/main router, I changed the Wi-Fi Name/SSID (under Wi-Fi Settings) from the default "Linksysxxxxx" to my own (ex: ABC123).
2). When I click on CA -> Connectivity -> CA Router Setup to add the mesh node, I don't see the "Add Wired node" and "Add Wireless node" buttons. Instead, it is asking for the SSID and password first. Should this be the one that I setup (ABC123) or the default "Linksysxxxxx"?
Note: I entered the one that I setup and hit Submit. I could then see the "Add Wired node" and "Add Wireless node" buttons. Is this correct?
Thanks
