Anyone notice an extreme drain on smart phones etc? Ever since i have these setup for just being an AP mesh (main router is opnsense) my cell phones drain about 33% a day sitting on the desk. With my old AC openwrt APs, it was only 5-10%.

Is one of the LAN ports better for use than the others? I'm running stock firmware on a child (mesh) node and my TiVo Mini arbitrarily stops communicating with my main TiVo down the hallway and I can't watch Live TV without rebooting my TiVo Mini and/or child node. the Mini is plugged into one of the LAN ports -- not sure which one.

After it happened last night, I added the Main and Mini TiVos to the priority device list and also reserved the DHCP IPs for those devices. Anything else i can try? On my old slower Deco mesh system, I'd get occasional stuttering but never a failure to communicate altogether.

The only reason I still use a TiVo is because I'm grandfathered into their lifetime plan so the service is free and i don't have to rent a DVR from Xfinity.

Once you add the child node using the above procedure SOEs this show in the Linksys app as two nodes. If not how do we know it's added as a child node?

I know the deal is dead, but for when it's back, another data point: I have two of these mesh nodes, one is inside my house and one is inside a metal building 166 feet away. The metal building blocks all cell signal, so I put that mesh unit in a window with a more or less line of sight to the house. Now in the metal outbuilding I get nearly the same full speeds I'm getting in the house.

I was almost going to purchase some Nano long range point to point wifi transmitters (like farmers use) to get signal out there but I guess I won't need to.

Surprisingly, it was terrible at first. I wonder if these take some time to start working. The first afternoon I set it up, the speeds in the outbuilding were very slow and there were multiple dead areas and dropped signal in the building. I had to attend to other matters that day, but the next day I tested the signal again and was surprised it was doing great. I wonder if the mesh units take a few minutes / hours in order to "calibrate" with each other?

That's a possibility. You may also want to try tracking it through various times of day and weather conditions, etc. If you're kind of borderline with a long distance, other factors could play a larger role than normal. For instance, there could be some secondary neighboring signal that may cause interference, but isn't always in use or something like that. And while interference could have a slight effect at short distances, it could be huge if the range is already pushing the limit. Even things like weather conditions can affect the signal to some extent. Obviously, it may be hard to nail down a definitive cause, but various outside factors are just something to keep in mind if you're pushing the range like that. I'd be curious to see just how much the throughput varied with that kind of setup. I might even be tempted to script a speed test to run every hour for like a week to get an idea of how much it might vary.

Yes, you will see the node in the Linksys app. It will also show you whether the node is online or offline. If the node is offline, you will also be able to remove it from the mesh using the app.

Just flash the original firmware and choose to reset settings. https://linksys.happyfox.com/kb/article/1003-en/

Also since this is a dual partition router, you can flip the power switch on and off 3 or 4 times and it should boot into the second partition with the stock firmware. Assuming you didn't flash both partitions.

I really like that dual partition. Most phones have this for updates but this is first router I've seen with it. Just biding time for things to settle down but if there are flashable version with the nss it should not be to long....

Mine finally showed up from my 8/31 orders. I have the main router setup and did a speed test and it's working great with my T-Mobile internet. It's about 30% faster on wifi than my Orbi RBR40 setup I had. Hoping the satellite setup goes smooth. About to do that. now. I'm happy enough with the stock firmware so I won't likely flash it for now.

Under network settings, what I did:
Static IP same as the lan IP 192.168.1.3
Gateway: 192.168.1.1 (main router's IP)
DNS: 192.168.1.1

So far I have not experienced any issues.
What about "NAT" under "Advanced Routing" tab, is it "Enabled" ?
If it's Enabled, you probably have a double-NAT for such Access Point.

Anyone tried it on linksys velop mesh? I have Linksys velop AC3900 not sure if this is compatible with LN1301.

You can't uncheck the "Enabled" on that.

As of now, the wireless (usually works), and the IPs shows up in IP scans and the router network map, but I can no longer bring up the configuration pages for either. One is using a LAN, one the WAN, neither works when you switch them. The one with the WAN says it is not responding to connections on port 80,will need to look into that.
