Nice, about $4 over spot currently, before CC cashback or member rewards.

I feel like Eagles are the worst to sell back. Sure any LCS will buy eagles in a heartbeat, but the differential between that and maples or buffalo pamp silvers seems like you'd lose less money vs the Eagles.

Do someone know if these are individually wrapped coins in big tube or just loose coins in this big tube?

Loose coins in a tube with a small piece of packing at one end.

It's in the tube it comes in from the mint. Definitely not individually wrapped.

Silver coins are horrible investments. I bought some American Silver Eagles from Costco about six months ago at around $29/coin. However, even though silver spot prices have gone up 15-20%, I can only sell them for $28-$29.10 per coin depending where I sell them. I would have been better off getting a guaranteed 5% return by buying t-bills.

There isn't supposed to be sales taxes on coins in my state, but yet if I try to order Costco adds tax. Contacted them and they said I would have to fill out a form and send to them to get taxes refunded. A lot of hassle for something that shouldn't be necessary.

The only reason to hold physical gold / silver is in case of absolute societal collapse (a legit reason IMO). Otherwise just buy into an etf (like $gld) and avoid tax on purchase price, don't have to hold, completely liquid. Sure, you pay a slight mgmt fee but the pros outweigh the cons. my gld holdings are up 24% in the last year, and that's all realized gains the second I sell.

If you have a place to safely store your gold free, physical will outperform the ETFs over the medium to long term. Those fees will eventually be more than the spread between the Costco price and what you can sell them for.

ETFs win if you have to cough up for storage/insurance, if you are doing short-term trading, or need to put the money in an IRA or other tax-advantaged account (which is a pain with physical).

Another (albeit illegal) advantage of physical is tax evasion. Bullion buyers don't have to file a 1099 on you unless they purchase over $10k from you. Again, that is illegal, and I don't do it, but it's an attraction for some.
