I have a very similar device for my golf cart.
The old, skinny propane cylinders allow it to sit in one of the cup holders.

Had one of these in Death Valley when the temps dropped down to the 40s and this was a life saver. Worth every penny. Just make sure you have ventilation. It does cause a lot of humidity to build up inside your vehicle. I brought a CO alarm just in case.

How large of a heater are you trying to use? This thing doesn't put out as much as a 1500W electric heater. It's ~1100W, which may be a low or mid setting on a good heater.

If you wanted to use this indoors I'd recommend opening a window or having some other way to compensate CO2 for fresh air. That might completely negate the heating effect.

I would love to know what other slick dealers own when it comes to diesel heaters. Surely some must be at least a little better than others. I've noticed when a diesel heater deal is posted. It gets Little to no attention most of the time. Anyone here buy any specific models and have good or bad luck with them?

They do have buddy knock offs with very similar design. Before settling in the portable buddy. I took in the consideration of the safety features plenty of YouTube videos I watched as research

Well, you're certainly right for watching YouTube videos and reviews to figure out the safety features features of these heaters. Most are not indoor safe as well. This model is. As well as the portable version you reference. In my opinion buddy heaters are definitely the ones to buy...

You just need to make sure you have at least some ventilation. It doesn't have to be anything crazy. I left my truck windows cracked on both sides about an inch and it was fine. The CO detector never went off.

Thing works pretty good as a hand warmer by my outdoor swing. I have the big buddy but this does seem to have its place. Surprised still available at this price.

Me as well. Expected it to sell out very quick at this price. They must have A bunch of them.

Been messing with mine and it seems like it puts off more heat than you would expect, for it being only 3800btu. Want to test it's run time when it gets a little cooler. Been a little disappointed with the portable buddy run time on low.
