10 bucks off 100 dollars lowes gift card, limit 2. Not biggest deal ever but does beat the 5% lowes credit card discount. Unsure if stackable with credit card rewards for new egg purchase?

I used to stack up on Lowe's and Home Depot gift cards, but now I've stopped bothering with Lowe's. Almost everything I buy, is about 10% cheaper at Home Depot anyway. My Lowe's gift cards just go unused for the longest time, since whenever I'm buying anything, I find comparable items cheaper at Home Depot and so decide not to touch my Lowe's gift card.

I know Lowe's is pretty popular with a lot of folks, but based on just general incidental observations over the last five years or so (since I became a home owner and started to use these stores more often), Lowe's is clearly much more expensive. And I don't get why. I can understand why Ace Hardware is generally more expensive (which I find to be the most expensive of the three) โ€” it's a smaller store; quick in and quick out, so prices reflect that. But as to why Lowe's is consistently more expensive than Home Depot; it always boggles me. To my untrained eye, I can't really make out any quality or service difference to command the higher prices.

Dragonfly, agree. Lowes is just not that competitive. There has to be competition, but Lowes isn't doing a great job of it.
I like the power tool and hand tool selection at HD better. Timber quality seems to be better and slightly cheaper at my local HD as well compared to local Lowes.

Be careful with these, I bought quite a few throughout the years but I have two ($100 each) that show I have $100 yet don't work in store or online and when I call in, they just give me the run around.

Most employees at HD take their job seriously. Cannot say the same for Lowe's employees.
