Is it only the hype? Is it good quality? Good environmental practices?

I don't mind paying for quality but would like to know what I'm getting for my money.

The quality is pretty good, I have an old backpack (small size) and I'm planning on having my baby use it when she gets to that age. Also cool designs in my opinion. When I traveled to Northern Europe I remember seeing these everywhere, as well as clothes.

It's a fashion brand. You can get more rugged bags for less, but they won't have that certain cachet of a Euro brand that no one knows how to pronounce.
