I don't see mesh support for this router. Netgear did advertise mesh support would be added to the higher end RS700 in a future firmware update, but it hasn't materialized yet.

With Gigabit connection, would I see value to get this? Perhaps maxing out wifi speeds to get close to LAN speeds?

Yes. Remember also that devices in your home are using wireless bandwidth for more than just talking to the internet.

What are the differences between this and the other $20 tplink router? Wii 7 vs 6 alone shouldn't justify $200 vs 20, right?

The $20 Linksys LN1301? This Netgear has WiFi 7 and the 6Ghz antenna. The 6Ghz antennas have been expensive. It also has the full 160Mhz channel width on the 5Ghz. Someone was saying the Linksys could only do 80Mhz wide. Firmware would be better on the Netgear, but if you can work with custom firmware and wait a little for it to mature then the Linksys would do fine in terms of that. Wifi 7 should handle idle devices better than WiFi 6.
If you need a single good wifi access point then the Netgear would do better. If you want to try and mess with mesh then the Linksys would be cheaper.
You could also get the Linksys now and whatevers good when WiFi 7 becomes cheaper.

How my router looks has such a huge impact on my life. I mean, I display mine in a frame above the fireplace and it makes me feel better about myself.

So if you have FIber, you still can't connect this to the ONT right? You have to use a modem and daisy chain this?

I can't speak for other fiber ISPs, but with Verizon Fios, I connect the router directly to the ONT.

This Netgear is a Wi-Fi 7 router, while the TP-Link is a previous generation Wi-Fi 6E router.

Would this fall under the lifelong return policy? I don't abuse it, but would like to know if after 6 months we have issues, sometimes it's easier to just return than deal with warranty... Anyone how networking equipment is treated for returns?

I got this yesterday to replace my quantum fiber router with 360 mesh system and my god it's so much faster. I have a 2k sqft house and this is at one end and it easily powers my wifi cameras outside on the opposite end.
