I will say that the video taken by this device is miles better than your typical phone video in the following aspects:
1/ Way smoother video
2/ Wayyyy better nighttime/low light video, especially when you record when walking
3/ Much more beautiful natural background blur (not computational blur), making your video look so professional.
I do agree that photowise, this thing does not take better photo than your phone.
People downvoting me have no idea what they are talking about. They are comparing to just the camera, which is $519 (so this is a great deal compared to that). But the Creator combo is $669 with everything here plus a mic. This is everything except the $90 mic. If you NEED the mic, this combo is around 10% off at best lol. Y'all gotta math harder.
I guess the extra battery comes in the form of a Battery Handle.
And no, this is NOT the creator combo which comes with mic.
Sam's club has a similar combo with 128GB sd card but no mini tripod for $498.

A few cons for me so far: The biggest drawback for me so far is how careful i have to be with it when i carry it around (compared to the action 4). It is not waterproof, i havent dropped it yet, but it would probably break if I did. A lot of moving parts on the camera, I was never comfortable keeping it in my "pocket". The protective case offers good protection, but makes it bulky, and difficult to position into the case properly and taking it out of the case is also finicky. Without the extended battery handle, people with big hands might have a difficult time keeping their thumbs positioned on the buttons while recording. I constantly have to double click the joystick button to re center the gimbal for my shots to maintain focus because sometimes the gimbal cant keep up with where I want it to focus.
Overall, good for slow shots (casual non sporty vloggers, slow, cinematic shots, family videos), only use during tame weather, good for places with low risk of it getting dirty, product show casing or close up shots, if youre ok to treat it like a fragile tiny a dslr camera. Action 4 imo is more versatile, has a lens guard, waterproof, can do super wide angle shots, overall cheaper, rugged, and image stability is very good. Otherwise smartphone is probably most convenient to use still with (decent enough image quality for most people)
I've been following a vlogger on YouTube who just finished the entire Appalachian Trail using this (maybe v2?) and it handled everything he threw at it. Rain, fog, low light, running while shooting, vistas, macros, you name it. The video quality of his vlogs were miles above almost everybody else. The only ones who were even close were using the GoPro line. I'm sure GoPro is miles ahead for those wide-angle and sport shots (like motorcross, downhill skiing, or something fast) and for indestructible cases. And for still shots, a recent gen Samsung, Pixel, or iPhone might be better.
However, I film my and my friends' kids 7v7, 9v9, and 11v11 games all the time with this camera. It is very smooth thanks to the gimbal so everything is nice and crisp.
That being said, the zoom is limited so, while shots on the near side of the field are amazing, the far side is less than desirable.
Here is a compilation I put together of me filming some youth sports, mostly soccer. Even if the camera doesn't meet your autotracking needs, you still may find it valuable for getting some buttery smooth close up action shots…

It is Costco and I have 90 days to return it if I don't like it.
How this compare to Gopro 11 in terms of video quality/stabilization etc. if anyone has any insight about it.
2x digital zoom. Somewhat useful but not great

I have X4 and it's good camera but not easy to use. You can't just copy files and edit them using any software. You have to convert every video file. That being said app and software are easy to use but if you are planning to use it for professional purposes X4 is not the camera I'll use or it can't be the only camera. I use X4 for personal use to record my own experiences and events. It is great to capture memories without missing out anything.
Check out my previous reply in case if you are wondering about this or phone

I own this. bought it for my youtube. it is decent camera. if you are using for personal use, use phone or I would buy pocket 2 or wait for the price drop on this. if you have professional use, I definitely recommend this one. Only flaw is zoom function. iPhone 15 PM/ Samsung Galaxy beats this camera just for that. low light function of OP3 is far superior than iphone/samsung.
If anyone is interested, I made few videos using this.

You need this if you want to take super smooth videos.
iPhone/Samsung stabilized video's cannot come close to a gimbal stabilized videos.
or, they could buy a gimbal for their phones. that would be cheaper than this. with that said, the pocket 3 is a great video recorder.

Buy a gimbal for your phone... your videos will be just as smooth.
Is there a way to get a free trial to Costco or anything to work around having a membership?
They will pro-rate and refund the balance of your membership fees
