tcl hisense and samsung all have one now.
looks like the os is better for tcl and hisense but samsung has the separate box thing.

The boxless design does make sense for some applications, like if you're going to put it on a wall that doesn't have a media center or credenza under it to stash the box in. But for most home applications, I think Samsung's design makes the most sense.
I use AppleTV on everything, so I don't care about the OS at all, personally.
That said, I'm glad there are more competitors in the "Frame Game". Competition is good.

I'm sold. going to do the 55"
edit: no box is a plus. just need a recessed box to run wiring. will probably use a vesa box
edit2: picked up a 55" last night. 65" would've been too big for my dinner room. I've worked on samsung frame tv and this is 95% similar. no in-wall box which I like because I can install it like a traditional tv. Going to use a Arlington 2-Gang Retrofit Recessed box to the bottom center of the wall mount. there are slots on the back side to run wires so it sits flush. ports are on the left side. power right side. remote is too big. the samsung slim flat remote is much simpler.
will run slim fiber HDMI 2.1 cables to the tv from my MDF. Tizen OS is trash. google OS is better. this tv for me is 99% art and it's connected to an HDMI matrix to mirror tv from living room and patio for sports/UFC during events at the house.
has 19gb free of storage. USB transfer of pics to the tv's art mode app was ok. I found that some pictures were upside down or rotated wrong even though it's right on my windows laptop.

That said, I'm glad there's competition too because Samsung still doesn't support Dolby Vision. So they are still trying to prop up their losing format for HDR. They've basically lost a format war and refuse to accept it.
I still think this is a great price for a great TV if it fits your needs, and the Samsung only wins out if you need a larger size, bezels, or prefer the box, which none of it actually has to do with the TV picture quality itself lol. Otherwise the premium for the Samsung doesn't seem to be worth it.
