Curious, is that fairly bright or rather dim? What's a good target for an above average size bedroom with some light leakage?

Very dim but this thing is cheap.....If you have a very dark room this might be okay.

I was about to say something about cheap projectors but this doesn't look bad from YouTube reviews I've watched. It's definitely one step above those cheap toy projectors.

One thing to knock about this particular unit is that you can find similarly priced projectors on Amazon or Ali that also have the ability to cast to them.

But with the restrictions streaming service apps have, it's really only a convenience if you're using your own media.

I'd check out some used short-throw or ultra short-throw projectors on eBay, and use projectorcentral dot com (not sure if links are allowed here) to find more thorough specifications and calculate the appropriate distance for your desired screen size.

I have an RCA projector, physical body is different but specs are very similar and I paid also 50 for it so most likely it's the same thing in a new packaging. First of all, it's cheap, don't expect great anything. Having said that, in a dark room it gets the job done. I moved back in March and I survived on that projector for a couple months while I got a new TV. You won't see much during the day unless you have blackout courtains, but at night it's decent and the image can go above 100" before distorting to an unwatchable level

I unboxed this from the last deal of $50, during the Black Ops 6 beta since I couldn't see enemies too well. I have 3 other older projectors (2 XGA and a 1080p) that were $600+. This was decent but I played in a dark room. My main complaint was the clarity from one side of the 100" screen to the other wasn't as good but well worth $50.

How does this compare to the haprun projector that was recently on sale?

Go on eBay and get a used low hours Epson projector. It'll be about 8x brighter than this for the same or similar price.

EDIT: For a deal site, lots of people here not really willing to seek out a deal.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/256581337950 (out of stock now, but more listings on eBay just like this willing to accept offers). Bought it for $50.
