Buy them (over $400 to get a deal) and return the one you don't want. You will receive the prorated discounted price for the item you want to keep. Do not cancel items. If you cancel items you will not receive discounted prices.

Thats what I was thinking too, but after doing some reading, it sounds like they are both 50/50 failed products. Lots of folks love them at first, but there seems to be quite a few that had failures or major issues with them both. Little too many for my taste. ~$120 for the fan after selling the inverter IS tempting, but I think Ill still pass.

This is correct this happened with that previous deal with ego. Have to wait for it to be delivered and then return what you don't want. Don't cancel the items.
Can you use a solar panel with the inverter? Noob question - I was thinking of using this while camping but what would be another use?
No solar option afaik. I get power outages pretty often in Florida and I have a property I spend time at where I could use the inverter. Fan mostly for chillin (sweatin) in back yard and garage, kids' soccer games, etc.

The inverter has a shipping estimate of Tues Oct 1 - Wednesday, Nov 6 right now (10:48 pm Eastern on Thurs 9/5/2024) so I went with the fan and the light. Wanted the inverter because I have a few spare batteries so figured if I have a power outage maybe I can use the spare batteries to charge stuff, but maybe I'll just end up getting that PST3042 power station one day.

I didn't know that about the fans. This is especially important to know, considering Amazon is NOT an authorized seller of Ego. I'm not going to chance it, and possibly have a 150 dollar dud.
I had two 7.5Ah batteries fail just a bit after warranty. My love relationship with Ego turned to a love/hate relationship. I see deals like this and it makes me sad.

Batteries are a big issue for Ego. Their price is just nuts compared to others on the market, and you have to absolutely baby them for them to last. I invested into Ego long before they had any real competition, so I'm pretty locked in, but I would definitely consider other brands if I were shopping today from scratch.

If you click on an item on EGO's web site, and then click "Where to buy", you will see Amazon is listed on EGO's website itself. I believe you are incorrect with Amazon not being an authorized seller of EGO. EGO appears to have their own "EGO Power+ Store" on Amazon, which you may have to buy from. So don't buy from some random seller on Amazon.
