I'll be interested to see actual user reviews (not the fawning guitar press reviews; they love everything). I had the original Mustang Micro, and the tiny display on the Plus is definitely going to be a winner.
HOWEVER, none of the models in the original sounded good, and I've yet to find headphones that are anything more than tolerable with these headphone amps. I've no idea why -- my headphones sound good with recorded music. Thus far, the only usable "headphone amp" I've found that's worth anything is the somewhat expensive Boss Waza-Air.
I sold my original Mustang Micro at a loss, and I see there are a couple dozen of the original model for sale on Guitar Center's used pages. (More used listings means that more people were ultimately happier with something else.)
If you have one of these already, how is it? How does it compare to the original Mustang Micro?

I vaguely recall reading somewhere that the Katana Go was supposed to be better than the Mustangs... unfortunately, the Go was discontinued but I saw a rumor that Boss is working on an updated product so we may see a new version of the Katana Go coming out. Should be interesting to see how that compares with this.

I've the Katana Go and it's amazing. I want to compare these two as well. Will keep you posted.

If you've got the money and you want to practice with headphones, then it's great. In my opinion, earbuds, even the ones with the bass boost sound pretty horrible. Full size headphones sound a little bit better, but the sound is very tinny with hardly any mids or bass. After a while it gives you a headache. But I'm able to take it to the park for practice and for laughs, but it's not a serious piece of gear. However you can do some really cool stuff like plug in the headphone jack into your receiver and blast guitar on your home theater. That is sure too make your wife very happy.

I got one of these a few months back and it's really a great device. Bluetooth streaming from a laptop to play along works great. I'm a bass player, so I use just the basic sounds, but for guitarists, there are alot of sound options.

This is a majorly updated device that just came out this week

How about the Boss Pocket GT? I haven't tried it myself but I thought it was the same engine as the GT-1000 but with a limited let of effects, models and signal path.

I have both the Pocket GT and the Katana:GO. I use both with CCA CRA (wired) and MEE M6 Pro (wired/Bluetooth) IEMs. I much prefer the sound, flexibility, and features of the Pocket GT (so much so that I bought a spare).
You can export GT-1 presets and import them into the Pocket GT via the respective Boss Tone Studio apps.
Of the "pocket" modelers, most folks seem to rank them loosely as Waza-Air > Pocket GT / Katana:Go / Moer Prime / etc. > Fender Mustang > Vox anything. Not surprisingly, that seems to align with cost.
Also, if you use Bluetooth for audio make sure boththe source and your headphones/earbuds/IEMs support aptX low latency (LL). Otherwise, the latency will likely be a noticeable distraction.

Did you try to adjust the EQ with the Fender Tone app?

He had the original mustang micro which didn't attach to the app. I'm guessing that it's an issue with the headphones more than anything. I have the original as well and I've used nice and cheap headphones but "monitor" style headphones (sennheiser) and they all worked great. He doesn't mention which he tried. I've seen people saying they saw massive improvements by switching to better headphones

I tried two or three pair of headphones including AKG monitor type ones. It was tolerable with those, but not great.

Anything that makes you want to pick up a guitar and play is cool.
