I used a sticker-mounted toilet paper roll hanger. I got it for 4-5 bucks. Under shelf over desk. Has been holding a pair of couple hundred dollar headphones that Slickdeals told me I ought to get. Don't regret, and thankful for the community 🙏 (edit. guess this sounds sarcastic, but it's not.. the tp holder really does work well and I'm glad for comments)

The ear pads are usually replaceable on high end headphones.
