My seven year uses the 11". Don't remember what we paid this spring but it was significantly more than this OP. It's a good glove for that age range and I except it to last 2 or 3 seasons when he should be ready for the R9. I'd definitely recommend this and especially for this price if you're looking for a 12". It's practically pre-broken in which is important for the little ones.

We're big fans of the A500 based on the gloves my kids moved up from to it, which were gloves that retailed in $10 to $25 range.

They actually did pretty well with the cheaper gloves and I wasn't sure what the advantages of the more expensive gloves are. One thing that did bother me was that the $25 glove was really stiff even after a couple of years of playing with it. We wanted to get them bigger gloves either way so got them A500s.

My older kid in particular became a real snot about his old glove when we tried to loan his older glove to other people, saying how much it sucked and was uncomfortable. And we had to remind him how he used to play well with it. But apparently the A500 felt a lot more comfortable to him.

Based on their feedback, I usually recommend people to shop for first gloves that retail in the $50 range(like the A500 and I assume that the other gloves that retail in that price range are similar). Then move up from there if they keep playing.

With that being said, I'm not quite sure what the difference between the A500 and A450 is. I assume they're similar based on the numbers being close. I think the gloves ending with a 50 are store exclusive models.

But I think the A360 retails for around $30ish. So think this is a great deal. Might be kind of big for little ones though.

Looks like the a500 is on sale for $40.

I'd have to check but I think my son's mitt is an 11.5 and he is playing u13 this year. Unsure if this would be a big difference to him but also don't know what position he will be playing next season. Last season he started to getting into a catching more and luckily found some gear on marketplace to use for that specifically.

Odd description on the mitt from this post unless it is just wrong. It says it is a good fit for ages 7 and under.

The description is right - the A450 is a T-Ball glove - super lightweight. The A500 step ups in material (and accordingly the weight of the glove) and is really meant for that 8-10u age player. A1000 is great from there, including thru high school although many move to an A2000 at that level. Of course player preference and hand size trumps all this.

Both of these are great deals if it's the size glove you're looking for.

What age is this glove designed for? My daughter plays with 11.5" softball glove and my son plays with 11" baseball glove currently. I thought about buying this for both of them to upgrade, they are using bottom of the barrel gloves. She is 9 and he is 6.
