Xfinity is charging me 115 for less speed in South Fla. I called them and they said they can do no better. Time to leave those creeps.

I was with AT&T for the 1gig plan at $80/month (also took advantage of the $300+ gift card offer) and I was very impressed. Very rarely was there downtime and if so it was never longer than 10 minutes. Was getting 1000+mbps up and down. Spectrum came to my door offering the same speeds at half the cost. Wind up swapping over but of course its cheaper because the upload speeds are never more than 20mbps. Fine for me for only $40 a month. But when I move again, I will be going back to AT&T.

What prices lol ru insane if you think those are high compared to most of the trash out there especially cable companies. When I had google fiber when it first launched in Kansas City a decade ago it was 70.00 for 1000/1000 plus you usually get 50.00-250.00 back in a rewards card plus if you already have ATT mobile you get another 20% off. Plus it's fiber the best you can get I would like to know where you live where you think the prices are high it seems the only thing higher is you Rotf.

The rollout is happening slowly in a lot of places, but just FYI, what's eventually coming is better speed than AT&T fiber plus near symmetrical uploads which is a huge deal. Internet packages typically only give you 30 or 35 GB up. You can check out the Xfinity subReddit for more info.

Of course if Xfinity comes out with anythng else, the price will be higher. There is a limit to what residential customers will pay. I have a business and although I dont work at home during the week, I do some business stuff.

this is just the progression of technology on the DOCSIS side and the upgrades that come with it. All cable providers are pushing for it, some already have it.

My local fiber company is $50 a month for 1 gig speeds. Plus first 2 months is free.

How did you get 1gig for $55?
Regional deal. If you have local fiber competition then ATT will compete on prices.

Btw something helpful that I learned was that spectrum DOES do fiber in newer homes for the same $40 monthly rate. I can confirm this because I recently got the promo where they come to your door and I moved into a newer home. The speeds were 1k up and 1k down just like AT&T. So don't write off spectrum just yet.

I would NOT recommend singing up for any AT&T fiber services as the south east tech under strike they cannot get any activations done and I have been with out home internet for more than 3 weeks now and don't know when they will be activating it at my home ..
The apartment only offers att and no other option
Cannot self install, they won't ship a device gateway , we cannot link a 3rd party router even we have cable wired to my unit..
No single alternative is offered for the suitation, our hands are tied up and no end in site..

Dang, seems like this offer is not available for AT&T Air, just fiber. I don't see any option to apply the code in the checkout page when I proceed with AT&T Air option.

This would be welcomed here in competition with the higher priced Optimum

Spectrum (formerly Charter) here will flat out lie to you about upload speeds to get you to sign, and don't have fiber widely available, if at all. I spend a lot of time trying to help coworkers get better WFH setups and it's infuriating when they come back to me misinformed.

I have no love for AT&T but I've had their fiber since the beginning of Covid and it's been nothing short of fantastic.
