New poster, so apologies if I'm doing this wrong, but since this is so rarely available on Festool Recon (and is never allowed to go on sale) I wanted to alert my fellow Festool Addicts that the Domino DF 500 is currently available on Festool Recon (for reconditioned tools) at 20% off MSRP. I've heard tale of this being available on Recon before, but this is the first time I've ever seen it myself after monitoring for months:

https://www.festoolrecon.com/coll...-500-q-set

Looks like the DF 700 Domino Set is coming up on Recon soon as well (and will be $1,348.00, compared to the MSRP of $1,685.00, when it does).

The Domino was 15% off new at a number of online sellers for a couple days in July (7/1-2 at least) and currently there's a combo at Tool Nut and Acne Tools for $1,299 that includes the DF500 with a systainer of tenons and the cutter set.

Indeed. I think the Domino t hat was 15% off recently was the plain Domino DF 500, not the set. And while the combo that includes tenons is nice, this offer on Festool Recon is good for people who: (1) don't need/want the tenons, or (2) prefer the accessories included in the DF 500 Q Set rather than the package that's on offer through the combo available at Tool Nut and Acme Tools (and other retailers).

Personally, I fall into both categories, as I already have the tenons and have zero use for the Hand Rail Fence that's included in the $1299 combo, but will use the Cross Stop that's included in the DF 500 Q Set (currently at Festool Recon) and that costs $87 on its own. So I cancelled my Acme Tools order for the $1299 combo, and saved $340 (plus tax, plus the $87 cost of a Cross Stop) and got the reconditioned tool. Pretty slick!

I don't know what this is. I doubt I need it. I don't know what any of the words in the three posts above me, mean.

But it's on sale... so maybe I should buy it

That's pretty much what most people that own this did.

Lol I made my own for $95 in T-slot extrusion + The price of the router... and it's cordless!!! 😉

The downside, it cost me a whole 6 hours to make and it has more functionality than just being a domino mortiser.

Overpriced brand. They love to show it on ATOH/TOH and woodworkers on YouTube love showing them off.

People who own them absolutely need to let others know they have them lol.

The tool you use doesn't make you better, ya know?
