For those curious, Chrysanthemum and Plum Blossoms are both $29.99. So, you're basically getting the cherry blossoms for free.

The Chrysanthemum and Plum Blossoms are $21.99 each if your local Costco has them in store.

These are available at Sam's for 21.98 for those without the convenience of a Costco. Much better to buy them separately.

The $89.97 original price is not correct. Chrysanthemum and Plum Blossoms are $29.99 MSRP and Cherry Blossoms are $14.99. Full price should be $74.99, so you are just getting the Cherry Blossoms for free. I don't really like that set so waiting for a better deal on just the other two.

How much do you guys think it costs them to make these pieces of plastic?
Probably a $1.00 including the box and packaging. ( at scale ) but not other costs and margins.

MSRP on these sort of items is usually 4x to 8x complete cost to vendor including profit margins.

Margins on 'luxury' goods is even higher buts thats a tax on people who like brands.

It's not a big secret. About a half cent per gram of plastic

Well worth the retail price. I am a fan of the Lego botanicals sets so at any discount these would be a great addition and I highly recommend these two new sets released this past August. They look amazing on display

With Lego the main cost driver are the molds, machinery and design teams. Perhaps marketing I don't know how much of that they do. But their catalogues are currently the favourite lego "product" of my nephew Smilie

You're not paying for pieces of plastic. You're paying for the design, the creation of the pieces, color of the pieces, etc. pieces of plastic is cheap. Design and engineering is expensive.
