I'm familiar with Simon shopping mails, but not familiar with "Shop Simon" - are we ordering the same jeans we could order from AE directly but getting free shipping ordering this way?

Yes, it ships from AE Outfitters. However, keep in mind that while shipping is free, returns are "easy" but not free. Returns are $4.95.

I don't have these jeans but the general idea behind athletic fit jeans is for the same given waist size, there's more room in the thighs. This addresses the problem where guy who work and get big thighs normally have to go sizes up to find pants that fit their big thighs but it then the waist fits really loose.
