Still overheats. It is fine if you are moving (bike, outside of motorcycle or car, etc) or have good airflow (windy day, ac vent inside car, etc). You can use a lower resolution setting 4k30 runs fine in most use cases up to an hour. Other brands have the similar issue so it is a packaging and processing heat issue with the small form factor. The Hero 13 has a heat sink on the front now but it doesn't seem (early days) to help that much.

My Costco app inventory checker said low stock but they were out. I think low stock probably means they ran out based on some other products I checked. Lasko pedestal fan said low stock but I have not seen it in over a month. In stock was actually there.

I have a Hero 8 that's unusable due to the overheating, Go Pro did absolutely nothing to correct it for me or offer compensation. Before I went to Hawaii I picked up a DJI Osmo Action 3, I ran that thing all day recording our drives around the islands with a windshield mount in the sun being the most brutal test of it. No overheating, great video results, the image stabilization is stellar, you can see the car bounding all over when I hit potholes but the video is stable. DJI is highly recommended, Go Pro is total junk in my opinion.
