I did a bunch of research between this TV and the Costco 100U70N w/ ext warranty plus mounting for $2199. The only differences I saw was the U8 is a miniLED panel rather than a QLED and has over 1000 local dimming panels rather than 270ish with the U70N. I also believe it's a little more energy efficient at 350w vs 500w. Ultimately I chose the Costco deal because the price was just too attractive with the perks. It gets delivered on Thursday.
Not sure you made the right decision here. Miniled vs qled is night and day difference especially for hdr. Extended warranty is another story..

Got this early this year and love it. Couldn't imagine having a smaller TV for my main one anymore. Sure an OLED looks better but I prefer the immersion from the sheer size of this tv.

I would hold out till Black Friday unless u absolutely need a bigger TV right now....the 100" U75 was $1999 back in Feb (currently at $2199 at BestBuy). Costco also has same set for same price. Main difference being Bestbuy offers FREE mount and install compared to Costco/Amazon.

Costco/Amazon use 3rd party delivery...their white box is literally brining the TV inside the house, turning it on and thats it. They do not offer any mounting services unlike BestBuy.

Both the U75 and this U8k are entry level models. U8 has more brightness but thats about it. Neither has any quality upscaler nor faster processor.

The 98" TCL QM7 ($2999 currently) is a better upgrade over both Hisense panels. Pretty sure come BF, these bigger panels will drop in price as 2025 will be all OLED and manufacturers will try to push out the LED sets as much as they can right now.
U8k is absolutely not entry level, and is much better than the qm7. Head over to rtings.com, it's one of the best lcd tv's no matter the price.

100%. Miniled>qled. No contest. Down votes on your comment are either ignorant or juvenile.

Sadly, the Hisense U8 has an inadequate viewing angle. The image fades and looks washed out as you move even slightly off-center.

Dirty screen effect. Yes, in the center.

But TV is overall better than the sony version of lower size.

The same thing we did before 85" TVs.

They use a third party I'm sure. Last time I had one delivered it was Pilot freight and it was white glove.
Agreed. We had Eagle Logistics for our last big Amazon tv and they did fantastic. Hauled away the foam and cardboard too. Didn't leave until we powered it on.

Yea. I know the U8 is a better TV but the price and perks put it over the edge for me. I've never owned a Hisense panel before.

Going in a media room with no windows.

I got this TV last holiday season. Love it. Unfortunately the screen cracks when kids throw a pillow at it(probably the zip pull). The screen is definitely very frigile. Consider getting some kind of accident damage coverage if you plan to order one.
