This loophole is closed now (or doesn't work on other colors). Now a single order is created with both items without any split, so returning the watch alone may void the promo.
I just ordered an hour ago on separate orders and shipping different times. I would try again

Lol, I had to read this twice to make sure I got you right. The phone is old stock obviously and that's why they are clearing it out. It was probably manufactured more than 6 months ago and because the battery is dead you are assuming its not in new condition? and the battery died so obviously the phone is ruined .

where did you come up with this theory? Lmao
It's not a theory, it's how lithium ion batteries work. They age and naturally discharge on their own over time even just sitting on a shelf. They survive best between 20% and 80%. Full discharges to 0% aren't great and are something you want to avoid, as it's a ding on the battery. If it stays like that at 0% on the shelf over time, it'll have diminished capacity relative to a new battery. The question is how much. Maybe hardly any, maybe a lot, or maybe something in between. I'll run through a couple cycles with AccuBattery before I'll know for sure.

I thought it was useful to know what you get for the price. We can't very easily replace the battery, and lithium ion batteries have a lifespan, so I'd consider it one of the most important aspects in judging the phone's condition.

I got separate orders and tried to cancel the watch, but the system would not let me since it was part of a "promo".

I personally like the 8 pro's esthetics better than the 9, better feeling in the hand and camera visor. This is a good deal "if" you can return the watch.

The big question that needs to be answered is whether the watch can be returned for a refund after we receive it - without impacting the $400 price for the phone. Will come tomorrow for me.

Ok? and you have no idea how "damaged" the battery is. Stop being dramatic.

This is a VERY good deal though the title should be modified slightly. You can easily get the Pixel 8 pro for only $408.

According to Amazon terms and conditions...

"...Offer discount will be allocated proportionally among all promotional items in your order. If any of the products or content related to this offer are returned, your refund will equal the amount you paid for the product or content, subject to applicable refund policies..."

This only applies to gen 1 google pixel LTE watches. Make sure to pick one that is NOT discounted (full retail price of $329.99) as some are discounted to $250. Then pick a google pixel 8 pro that is discounted to $624 (the blue color is the full $999 last time I checked). On the checkout page that discount was indeed allocated proportionally so that I effectively got $330 off the total with $216 of that promotion was applied to the Pixel 8 pro bringing down the total to $408 for the pixel 8 pro. The remaining $114 of promo went to pixel watch bringing it down to $216. I don't need a new smart watch anyways (and $216 for pixel watch isn't a great deal) so I plan to return it once I receive it. Do not cancel the order as you will lose the promo.

Pretty happy getting this deal as my oneplus 8 got water damaged recently and I need a new phone ASAP. Was (and still kinda am) considering getting the s24 ultra instead but considering it costs an extra $400 I think I will just stick with this!
Were you able to return the watch?

Good price but I don't think 128GB - a base model - is enough storage today.

I recently bought a Pixel 8a and got the 256GB model, which I consider the minimum storage amount today..

Dramatic? I've stated what I received from this order, just the facts — info I would have liked to have known before I ordered. That's the content I find helpful here on SD. It sounds like you might be sensitive about it, maybe because you've ordered but not yet received it. I hope that this is isolated to just the phone I received and that yours arrives with a healthy battery.

Dude, all that happened was your phone arrived with a discharged battery. Charge it up and keep it or not. Stop being a baby and making it seem like every phone is broken

Also, im just winding you up. Big Grin

Bro it's a Pixel and you are worried about keeping the battery between 20 and 80. That's pure comedy. Listen, you know what really kills batteries? A hot running phone. My Pixel 6a in service for 2 years can tell you all about it.

Hot running phone? Then you should start killing the apps that cause it.

As for the battery range, I don't know what the right boundaries are, but tesla has done a lot of studies to learn how to manage lithium ion batteries. They've found a few things that kill them quicker, starting with running them down and charging them to full (capacity use), charging to 100% and leaving them plugged in, and charging while you're doing other things (draining while charging) is also not good.

No battery is going to last forever, but you can apparently make some positive behavioral changes to your charging patterns.

I bought an 8 pro in July. And it died in August. I had a pixel 3 ad 6A, surprised for 3's quality, ok with 6a's and disappointed with 8pro's. Pixel is not the same as before.
I will say that I like the older pixels better and the 6a was garbage, but the 8 (regular 8, not pro) has been solid for me. Wonder if you got a lemon or there is something with the 8 pro which makes it bad. Also noticed that in the details for this deal that this is only 6.2" which is what I think the regular 8 was, I thought the pros were usually larger? Or at least they used to be.
Edit: The 8 pro is larger and has more RAM. The main post is wrong or the Amazon listing is wrong. Be careful and take screen shots people.
Edit 2: The amazon listing seems legit, it's just the main post (the second one down has pixel 8 specs instead of 8 pro).
