I bought both to test for my daughter. Build quality is similar. There is a little more flex with the vivo than the zen because it is a larger laptop. We returned the zen because of battery life, fan noise, and heat output. The vivo screen was a little better due to the fact it isn't a touch screen. The extra pixels in the zen were nice to have--gave a few extra lines of text in a document. The zen keyboard backlighting is brighter. Another factor in our decision was hardware age--we thought that the vivo would have longer support. The last thing that made us return it were the wireless connections. The vivo was always 100-250 mb/s faster than the zen, often 150-250 mb/s faster.
I'm worried about the heat on this one. if it were anywhere but costco I'd avoid it but I'm tempted.
I've had this laptop for a couple of months now and it's been great! Love the high refresh rate, high resolution OLED screen. The audio quality is also phenomenal on this laptop. Was lucky to find one for $680+tax as an open box in good condition at Best Buy locally.

I think I'd rather have an Ultra 7 155h for better battery life and probably cooler.

Great laptop. Had 2 prior Vivobook versions (the 2-in-1), and lasted about a year each. Screen cracked in both cases.

Absolutely get the Allstate warranty. Got a full refund on the first one, and they repaired the second one. The Asus and Costco warranty do not cover screen cracks. Worth the $100.

The first one was refunded because the model was new, and there simply weren't spare parts for repairs. The second was straightforward repaired (screen replaced). Dealing with the warranty was not complicated, online, and no hoops to jump through. Took about a month.

This one being $800 is a deal. The 2-in-1 model is about $1200, and I think only comes in a 16" screen now.

The trackpad overlay with a numberpad is genius, and I hope other laptops get it (or Asus licenses it).

We think the screen cracks are due to dirt/sand grains getting between the body and the screen when closed, and the body doesn't have thick enough bumpers to prevent a grain of sand from crushing the screen and cracking it. So add your own bumpers or get the warranty.

Have you considered the Vivobook deal at Walmart:

Great laptop for $750.
