Plus membership does not ship for FREE less than $50 items anymore.
(I never order over $50)

Sam's has same online rates as in store. I hate Costco that they jack up prices online.

Using the app is what makes Sams Club worthwhile, you just scan your items and walk out. It doesn't really matter how many people are in the store as long as I don't have to wait in line. I wish Walmart would allow that with their plus membership, but you still have to go to a checkout when you use theirs, which defeats the purpose.

Is it possible to sign up but activate membership for later date? For example: sign up 09/27 (before offer expires) but activate membership in 12/01 Dec?

No doubt it is terrible. I used to order many small items for free shipping, and that was a major perk for me. I got spoilt, to be honest. I wish they didn't take that away for plus members, or at least kept the threshold a more reasonable $25 or sth. But removing the $8 charge for home delivery is a relief in some way. I never end up buying less than $100 worth of bare minimum staples weekly for my family of 5 with 3 kids. So it works out OK for me. But I'm still pained about free shipping gone.

I love the Sam's app. For both shopping in store and the fuel station. This is the nearly the sole reason why I'm giving up on Costco. My local costco is so incredibly busy all the time, the lines are to the mid store - even with self checkout. I can only go during their peak hours. With Sam's I can scan my items as I go and walk out. I've never had to wait in line there. Another partial reason I'm giving up is particular to my area, the costco is located in a high-traffic area with practically a maze around it. It's long and hard to get to and long and hard to get out of. Everything about Sam's is easier and the prices are the same. I find a lot of the same products there anyways.

Tired of Costco (member for years) not giving any promo to existing customers . I want to try switch and come back to Costco with promo after 12 or 18 months . I assume Sam's club is similar to Costco and they carry similar items ? Will they let me in if I just want to go inside to check out ?

Try removing any sams* cookies in your browser, that may be what is requiring you to login. You may need to use a new email address though depending on when your previous membership expired. Hope that helps!

Whatever your email is say this - - [email protected] instead of this do this [email protected]. Your email should look new and hopefully be able to create a new account. Basically adding +sign and then a word or numbers looks like a new account.
