Any more features on this Tapo compared to regular TP-Link EP10 Mini Smart Plugs?
Both smart plugs can be managed in the new Tapo app. But did not find any real benefit of the new Tapo [tp-link.com].
I do not have any Matter devices at my home.

If you don't care about Matter (multi admin / offline IoT via hub), then this deal should not matter to you. Pun intended. In all seriousness, it's usually more expensive and more experimental for now. I bought just to tinker with it and price was same as regular version. You do lose energy monitoring if you go with this vs regular version

FYI it doesn't look like these can be flashed with ESPHome. There's a Home Assistant integration for Tapo. It looks like it's local control but the plugs and HA need a cloud connection to sync.

Do these retry connecting via wifi if it loses connection without having to physically remove and plug back in? I have a few wyze smart wifi plugs that I have to physically remove and plug back in to connect to wifi. A PITA so would replace if these are actually "smarter". TIA

I don't have any matter devices yet to test it out. But can't you install the matter server add-on in HA and then connect to the Matter server via wifi? Giving it local control natively. I noticed a lot of these use Matter over wifi instead of via thread router.
