Many low reviews on the Vornados saying that beyond right in front of the heater it's just blowing cool air and not making much difference. Also lots of reviews of them failing.

I prefer my heaters to not look like they're about to climb in bed with me at night.

Totally disagree. I have about a dozen of their fans and heaters over the past 8 years and they all operate like brand new. I especially like and use the turbine motor so there will never be a creek or noise. I haven't had a vornado creek or make noises. To me they are a company just like Lutron, who make the best quality products for fair prices. Buy once, not every 1-2 years.

Thank you, ordered a vheater for pickup. Trying to avoid having the heat up so high and see if I can save some money this winter.

I have one of these heaters. The reviews match my experience it's basically a normal space heater with a stronger fan and doesn't really accomplish much except for warming very small rooms

Vornado used to be a high quality American made brand. However, they have slowly cheapened the brand over the years. Historically, it wasn't unheard of to have people that had Vornado fans that lasted over a decade. Now they are lucky to get half of that. This is also representative of their warranty which used to be 10 years but is no longer the case. I have a few super old vornado fans that I love but I'd be pragmatic about buying a new one today. It's unfortunate because they have a great opportunity to be a premium American made brand.

Another thing people need to realize is every heater that is the same wattage puts out the same exact level of heat. A 1500 watt heater sold at dollar general is as good as a 1500 watt super premium heater sold at beat buy.

Yes, but the quality of the fan and safety components vary greatly. A heater is about more than just the heat generated.

Edit: just saw that JRM above made the same point.

Just a friendly reminder that virtually all electric space heaters put out the same amount of heat, regardless of price, element type, or room size rating.

Heating elements are cheap and resistive heaters are essentially 100% efficient, so the electrical code limit of 1500 watts becomes the bottleneck.

Choose your space heater based on its design, and always follow its safety instructions, but don't be afraid of cheap heaters.
