That's a much larger screen and weight - different class.

This depends if a higher refresh rate and resolution matter to you. Also if you have a preference for Intel or AMD. Both deals are good in my opinion.

Sorry Dumb question: I read something about not being able to use blur or other background effects (blur is the only one I care for) because it's not a Microsoft laptop. Is that true?
Nothing to do with microsoft laptop. You can blurr or change background if app supports it regardless of camera. I use background affect with my webcam when using Teams

For $150 more you can get an OLED (FHD) display and a modern CPU.

1360P is hot. This is a slim laptop and gets hot quickly and throttles - that's why is on sale.
My suggestion - get something newer on sale like the aforementioned Intel 155H CPU, look to have at least one USB C Thunderbolt port (if not all).
The HP Dragonfly laptop is an entry workstation, way way higher tier than this Lenovo. My personal use is a ZBook, sometimes they can be had for a crazy good price but the current generation equivalent to this Lenovo is HP ZBook Firefly 14 inch G11 and it costs around $2300 on sale now Smilie. i've got the previous year model for around $700 on sale. Their warranty is 3-years, direct lines to HP workstation support and sales in Texas and same day replacement delivery. That alone is worth a grand Smilie Smilie

It is nice but I returned mine in favor of a Dell xps 13 with the same cpu but a smaller but sharp 3.5k Oled touchscreen 32gb ddr5 5200, 1tb for just under $430 after taxes. Not everyone will like this as it hurts battery life but I just love how OLED feels on my eyes so I prefer them on all my platforms. It was an open box bestbuy deal. If you like Oled the vivobook is interesting and I have seen them as refurbs on eBay with warranty for $400-500

Not a true 2 in 1 either? Means won't fold over 360 degrees for drawing? The display seems great.,

Not everyone is planning to upgrade, 16GB is more than enough for most users.

The only concern is with soldered memory is the risk of memory failure, in that case the laptop motherboard will entirely be replaced instead of replacing memory chip.
This is Slickdeals. Everybody is planning on upgrading the RAM. Good enough is never good enough here.

I have the Amex offer for $100off $500, and after 10% new subscriber discount, it's around $170 cheaper for Dell. Is the slim 7 worth the extra $170?

Btw the laptop is for a junior high(no gaming)kid.

The processors are about the same, with the Lenovo having a slight edge. The Dell would use less energy and have less heat. The Dell is about 1/2 lb heavier, while Lenovo has the better build quality.

But a large portion of the price difference is the Dell is not touch screen, and not as bright..

Is someone able to help me understand what the difference is between the model offered by B&H and the one available on Lenovo's website for $850? It's a bit fuzzy to me if they are different processors, I see one is Window Pro vs Home - is there any other notable difference? Trying to understand if the $200 premium for the one offered on Lenovo's website is worth it for any reason? Thank you.

The Lenovo 7i will be a tad heavier, has a slightly newer, better cpu & graphics, but the B&H model's screen has better resolution.
