I see the picture saying "Get one free tool", but I didn't see any options to pick a tool. Was this price for a hack? If not, I'm showing regular price $199.

Edit
you can just add this to the cart and the price will go down.

I have a lot of m12 tools, but this one seems like a $50 corded Dremel is probably a better bet. Mine is like 20 years old now, won't have to worry about batt issues and TBH when I use it power is readily available. I have been going through the motion on tools "do I really need a proprietary cordless device". One time I had to do something outside, and I just lugged my River 2 pro out with me and it had enough battery for a day.

With LFP batteries getting lighter and way better I am starting to reconsider do I need it to be battery at the tool for a huge premium or can I bring the battery if I am mobile. With that I start looking at wired HF tools again...

For instance, $24: https://www.harborfreight.com/13-...68696.html

What do you folks think?

Yeah it's a hack not labeled as a hack. Not sure why you got downvoted, I guess you somehow offended someone with what seemed like a pretty benign question.

Same situation here, I got about 20 years of occasional use out of my dremel, and recently fried it cutting the heat shield brackets off of a catalytic converter. Corded definitely seems like the way to go for occasional use. I ended up ordering one of these simply because half the time I get under the car I forget to plug in my tool and I have to slide back out and get up to plug it in. Probably overkill though... The corded dremel worked just fine.

As a handyman I do a lot of work on my tailgate, that and hate dealing with cords in my toolbox. I will almost never use corded tools and think I don't need them, get the cordless version then use the crap out of them. Probably just me though

Yeah I think for that use case, makes sense. I have this little 15 lb portable power station that I use if I need to go mobile for a bit but most of my stuff done in the workshop so corded is prob better. The good news is there are at least choices. I still have a Dewalt corded demo saw (20+ yo) which is powerful but I find myself reaching for the cordless one because it is just so much easier to maneuver...

The way I think about it is: would I struggle less, and would it make life easier, for a relatively small increase in cost? Then I go for the cordless but usually still am pretty frugal for occasional use tools so I sign up for a slickdeal alert, add some CCC price alerts, and only get it when there's a good sale.

I have been waiting for Milwaukee to replace the brushed version of this tool to replace my corded, brushed Dremel. Brushless is where it's at, and I did not want to go into yet another battery line. The Brushed dremel will burn out the RPM resistor wherever you use it the most, along with wearing out the brushes over time.

I've had the brushed version of this tool for years and consider it a complete gamechanger. Have burned through my fair share of corded dremels over the years. Think I still have one in the back of a drawer, have not touched it since getting the m12.

Where? I do not see that anywhere on the HD website.

EDIT: I see a link for the older, brushed motor design. This is the updated brushless model.

Thx OP. I've been waiting for a deal on the brushless M12, since the battery on my 30 year old Dremel isn't sold anymore.
The deal was still live for me, and I got a 10% off $299+ coupon in the mail yesterday. Added the M12 Rt Angle Cordless Impact, and couple "special buy" ShockWave/PackOut bit sets, to put me over the $200, and ended up with $556.85 ($480.17 w/out ratchet) worth of Milwaukee stuff for $319.36. When I return the ratchet (I already have it) it'll be $242.68 which is basically 1/2 price.
