Though a different brand name, its pretty much made in the same location it appears. The 2 step has always been in the $32 range and the 3 step in the $39 range on Amazon. So the HD price is just brand pricing.
Its a good stool, but know that there is no safety guard rail that most other step stools have. So when you are in the top most rung you could fall over if you are not careful. But otherwise, the construction is sturdy and does what it s meant to do.
I got it to fit in a small walk-in closet yet be able to reach high and be light enough to quickly move it across and its done the job. Most happy with the lower weight of it as compared to Rubbermaid and other traditional step stools.
