These are for car camping and they cost $40. No one should be expecting a backpacking cold weather sleeping bag at this price point.

I have two of these and have used them successfully in just-below-freezing temperatures. I sleep cold and these worked fine for me, but I would say that this bag should have a 15-20 degree comfort rating.

I've been looking for a cold weather bag for my son for scouts. He's done polar bear campouts and winter survival camps. But also skeptical of anything saying 0° if it really holds up to that. Weight isn't an issue for these campouts.

I have this bag and have used it down to about 10F. Usage at 0 F is probably pushing it….more like a survival rating. It's heavy. It's big. It's warm. It's a good deal.

If you're not concerned with shaving weight from your pack like it's a formula 1 car, these are fine for backpacking. I jam a Coleman mummy into a stuff sack and tie it on my pack. I'm not doing the Appalachian trail or anything but it's a perfectly functional part of my kit for covering 5-10 miles per day.

These clearly aren't designed for that use case but just want to illustrate it's not some impossible task, especially if you and a buddy are splitting the cooking stuff, tent parts, etc

Yes it does, 12"x12"x17" it's a little challenging to put it back in it though.

Love this bag at this price for winter car camping. Had the zipper not even break but just kind of mess up on my first one and Coleman sent me a full replacement bag, so now I have two. Used it in a hammock for a long while.

Sleeping bag temp ratings are measured using a sleeping pad with R-value 5.4 and a full base layer of clothing. That's a decent quality pad and likely not cheap. Temp ratings are also targeted towards survival/preventing frostbite than sleeping comfortably.

Keep that in mind if you're sending scouts out winter camping. For the price, this might be a good buy for fall camping when it could frost or for extra insulation sleeping on an air mattress/nothing.
