Just a heads up on this drive. This is functionally identical to other Gen 4 NVMe SSDs that use the MaxioTech MP1602A Falcon Lite controller with a Dram-less design, like the Teamgroup MP44 or the Lexar NM790 and uses a YMTC TLC NAND flash. They are generally reliable and have a very fast r/w speed at about 7k/6.5k making them a great choice for gamers but not so much for productivity or content creators as the sustained speeds when copying large files are not great on these drives. At $95, this is a pretty good deal though IMO.
This is the first comment I have seen in SSD storage drive that is actually useful. Thank you.
Finally a useful comment where someone understands the use cases of DRAM and DRAM-less...and when it doesn't matter. Too many people on SD act like the only thing they're doing is making 4-hour 8K videos when in reality what they do is play minesweeper.

Anyone know the TBW?

edit.
Found a review with a picture of the manual that says the TBW is 600. I don't know if this is correct though because that seems really low. The 2TB Samsung 990 EVO that was $100 earlier this month has a TBW of 1200.

Why does this read and feel like a complete shill posting from Staff...especially comment #4, brand new user giving instructions on how to get the deal...seems sleeping with the staff type of account.

Walmart has the Western Digital 2TB WD Blue SN5000 NVMe Internal Solid State Drive - WDS200T4B0E for $78.38

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Wester...7982174680

Be aware, it's a third party seller and the only two reviewers said they actually received the 500 GB version instead. However, the model and part number listed are for the 2 TB. I took a chance and will find out Tuesday when it arrives. Easy return to store if not legit.

Not as fast, but a good storage drive:

Sequential Read Performance
5,150MB/s
Sequential Write Performance
4,850MB/s
Random Read
650K IOPS
Random Write
770K IOPS
Interface
PCIe Gen4 x4
Warranty
5-Year Limited Warranty
Good luck! too much risk for 20 bucks imo but thats because i hate dealing with walmart here Smilie

Anyone with experience with this company? Hesitant after my Nextorage SSD failed in less than a year.

Is this good for PS5? Instructions say "For PS5… remove the metal heatsink, keep the thermal pad only." Sounds kind of dangerous to run without a heat sink.

I don't get that either. Unless the heatsink doesn't fit in the compartment I would definitely put it on (or buy a cheap one on Amazon). Performance should be just fine. DRAM isn't going to make a difference at all just reading game files, maybe just slower transfer speeds.

It sounds like it won't fit with the heat sink, why else would they say to remove it. Can anyone comment on the safety of running this inside a PS5 without a heat sink? 🫣

Please be aware that, while WD Black drives are great...WD Blue SSDs are some of the worst "name brand" SSDs you can buy.

I'd buy literally any Crucial SSD before buying a WD Blue. I'd also buy several types of lesser-brand drives, like TeamGroup.

I would assume so, but the picture makes it look pretty low profile so I don't know. There are people who run without a heatsink and say it's fine. It may thermal throttle (which you won't actually notice in practice), and put more stress on the drive but will probably still be fine. You can buy a heat sink for $5 anyway if you don't want to risk it.
