Memories….I remember my 1994 ford explorer with a fosgate amp powering 4 kenwood speakers. A bazooka bass tube and an alpine HU. Those were the days. marriage, kids and then poof. ⚓️

This is a 4 ch amp. It's not all about bumping the bass. Car manufacturers still skimp on audio unless you want to shell out an ungodly amount of money for higher trims and even the. The audio can still be mediocre. 90% of OEM car audio systems are made by one umbrella company, Harman Industries.

" Harman markets its products under various brands, including AKG, AMX, Arcam, Bang & Olufsen Automotive, Becker, BSS Audio, Crown, dbx, Harman Kardon, Infinity, JBL, Lexicon, Mark Levinson, Martin, Revel, and Soundcraft."

The top of the line audio system for my car is a Mark Levinson 835w 17 speaker system but on the forums, owners have had better results upgrading with after market stereo equipment. Not for bass but for sound reproduction.

Do not buy refurbished items from sound of tristate.

I have purchased 2 stereos and an amp from them within months.
All went bad and they didn't stand behind their limited warranty.
Ended up learning the hard way and bought new stuff the next time and didn't have any issues.

Rockford Fosgate makes quality amplifiers, and 210 shipped is a damn good deal, but if you care about sound quality at all, keep class D amps like this one for subwoofer duty only.

I'm new, break down the classes for me please. I watched this, https://www.crutchfield.com/S-qvl...-best.html Says modern class D amps is fine.

Wow! Rockford Fosgate is still around! I remember all the 1980s TV commercials for stereo installers featuring their stuff. Love that they're still here!

Alpine was another big one. Off to Google Smilie

It does seem like car audio is less easy to modify given proprietary HUs... But still fun to modify as possible. I miss the days of browsing crutchfield and easy options.

They ruined car stereos over the last 15 or so years you can't upgrade. if you do upgrade it's very difficult because too many options are in the actual factory stereo.

It takes another piece of equipment. I had to add a RF DSR1 that reads the CAN bus to be able to retain full factory HU but the DSR1 functions as a DSP as well.

Can get something like a Rockford Fosgate RF360 interface. They intercept the output of the car's audio and enable a good signal to go to an amp. Can even do full EQ adjustments to all lines.

Is this amp a good one? If I spent four hours I could figure it out myself. I do too much of that. tell me and everyone else please.
