Why can't they come in a cardboard box like regular crayons? I don't see the use for this giant plastic case. Is this a premium experience?

I don't mind the plastic as cardboard usually gets beat up pretty quickly. Having said that, I put our two stables in a gallon ziplock which works great.

Longevity & durability. This is something that you take in the car on long trips to give your young kids something to do besides screen time. The plastic storage container allows them the color on top of a hard surface and to store when not being used.

Not sure but think that the 30pk of Twistable Pencils for 8.99 is a better deal @ Target, especially if you don't need the case or 40 sheets of paper. You are getting 5 more markers, target puts crayon on sale regularly plus your Red Card 5% discount would easily be a better choice, in my opinion.
