Ahh, the perennial lowest-priced bike from Outback since 1995ish. Not a deal! At any price.

I picked up the diamondback division 1 bike for 250 at my warehouse.

I've seen them as low as 299.97 at other stores I'm not sure if that's a better bike than this one.

That sure looks like a rebadged Schwinn that sold here for under $100. Was it a Sidewinder?

Quote from SlickCrowd6832 :
Picked up a Kona with Deore XT components for $150 off of facebookmarketplace. The only thing I need to do is buy new grips.

Also picked up a GT for $80.00 but it need about $50 in parts.
And?

Meh. Would rather have an Ozark Trail for $300 and then upgrade.

On the plus side, it looks like it's upgradeable, the derailleur hanger can probably be replaced (assuming you find one that fits). Microshift is probably better shifting than the cheaper Shimano so props to them to go with dependability over marketing.

Downsides.. it's HEAVY for an aluminum frame although not any worse than the typical Walmart bike. This is basically on par with the better Schwinns you can buy at Walmart or Target which are usually cheaper. Not a ton of info in the product description.. no name fork, probably no lock-out feature. Doesn't list speed 3x7? 3x8? 3x9? Lacking on info for specific components so assume everything is cheap bottom of the barrel. One size fits all.

If you are buying for yourself, you are way better off shopping used. If buying for a kid's Christmas present, add $100 back into the price to have a proper bike shop tune it up first. But $500-600, you maybe able to get something better from a legit bicycle shop on end of season clearance. Not really a deal here, imho.

I remember I bought a stolen 1986 BMX GT Performer for $90. It was beautiful. Some kid stole it from me and there wasn't much I could do about it

No tapered head tube, should only be $200 like the target schwinns were when they were still in stock.
For $400 there are so many better options.
The Ozark Trail Vibe can be had for $300, with another $30-55 cashback depending on which plugins you have, and which payment provider you get rewards from.
