Non-owners always have a LOT to say about these – and believe me, I get it, I swore up and down I never wanted or needed one of these things. I got one as a gift two years ago and I would unequivocally say I would buy myself one now and have given a few as gifts. They just WORK and are perfect for a slow coffee drinker, like myself. For the record, I only opened the app once, I don't need to futz with temps after one setting.
My main tip, though: do not waste your time/money/coffee on anything less than the 14 ounce, the 10 ounce is just TOO little.
In my experience the warranty isn't the best. Have the Mug2 and lid broke when I pressed it in after a few months. Had to practically beg for them to do a one time exception and send me a replacement after sending pictures and videos of broken lid. Still had receipt and within 1 year of ownership.
The Gen 2 has a button on the bottom, you hold it down and it turns off.
Pro tip for my ember fam, buy a small pack of rubber coated baby spoons to stir your coffee.
Never use a regular spoon as it will chip the coating.

Even though these are reconditioned, these prices are excellent compared to what they usually sell for. Before the usual naysayers start commenting about how unnecessary this little luxury is, let me tell you it makes morning coffees so much more enjoyable when my wife and I can sit on the balcony and enjoy our drinks without having to worry about them going cold.
A note on the gen "2" vs OG - I think the only difference is battery life. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

After reading all of the user reviews, and considering my coffee consumption through out the day, I have really wanted to try one of these... but $150 was too much for a coffee mug for me vs. my normal coffee cup and my $5 candle/coffee cup warmer hot plate thing. I am pretty sure this is by far the cheapest I have seen for a 14OZ ember 2... buy A LOT. I tried to get the Rose gold 14oz, but it sold out while I was checking out, so went with a gray one. I finally get to see what all of the fuss is about, thanks OP, repped!

Do these come with any warranty by chance? I want one, but reconditioned can mean many things these days.

Love my original, agree the 14oz is the size to get.
Anyone know what refurbs are like with Ember? I'd be a little worried about the battery being run down, but with this sort of product I'm kind of guessing most factory refurbs are barely used returns anyhow.

Dang you are right, I bought as soon as this is posted, before reading comments. I checked, and first gen 14oz is 60 min battery life for the cup itself, vs. 80 min for the gen 2. Once dead, either one takes 2 hrs to charge, so I guess the second gen also charges a bit faster since it has a 33% higher capacity.
I think I would have rather saved $20, I think the 14oz gen 1 ember for $36 is the slickest deal of the list...
Got the wife a 14oz some time back. Was only a few weeks before it found a permanent home in a drawer. Some of us drink our coffee fast enough that temperature isn't a concern.

$7.99 for the Asurion extended 3 year warranty may be worth it. Any problems or battery fails you will get your money back in full.
