yea if i "had" to get an iphone 16 i think the boost deal is the way to go. It's not a marketable as saying get a "free" iphone16 but you'll save more over that 1 year plan than paying $65+ month for an unlimited plan. But most consumers will go for the free phone instead of the long term savings lol.
$65*12 = $780 already. Which is roughly the cost of the phone. Essentially just getting free wireless service for a year.

Where are you getting 0 tax from? They charge tax on the full phone price plus the plan
Some states like NC have no tax if they don't have warehouse in those states - same was true for Amazon 10 years ago when they did not have warehouse in every US state - online sellers are forced to pay sales tax in states they have offices/warehouses unless you stay in a 0 sales tax state like DELAWARE

Who's upgrading? If you have a iPhone 13 or newer this is not even a noticable improvement on daily use. Capitalistic BS preying on low self esteem individuals.

How is this a great deal compared to what you got?

To get a similar plan (20 GB) and the exact phone, you need to pay:
829 (1129 - 300 rebate)
+ 330 (30*11 months)
= $1159!

Am I missing anything here..

It appears to you in this deal that the plan is just FREE.. but that's because you already overpaid for your phone at Apple!
It's a great deal because the phone costs $829 vs $1184 ($355 savings over my costs), and monthly plan costs are nominally the same as my current costs ($25/month when paying annually at RedPocket).

You say it feels like a deal because I overpaid at Apple. If this deal makes the normal Apple price look like overpaying, then I'd say you're calling this a deal!

Based on past history, is this deal likely to repeat around the new year? I have a prepaid plan that ends around then.

It isn't for a lot of people, that is why the upvotes! I hope you realize that for $20 a month, competition is offering unlimited.

You know what would have made this a great deal?
Everything stays the same but with the UNLIMITED PLAN!
What carrier is offering an unlimited plan for $20 a month PLUS $300 off an iPhone?

Please keep in mind that their "Unlimited" plan is not actually unlimited. Data is 30GB/month, after which you are reduced to literally unusable speeds (just like their other plans that don't pretend to be unlimited "everything"). And because they push this facade to the max, you have no way of knowing how much data you have left for the month since it only shows "Unlimited".

I have used RP for 5 years now and once you get everything working well the service is pretty decent as long as you don't need any kind of customer support. But between the pricing structure no longer being as beneficial for existing customers (the good black friday annual deals can no longer be applied to existing lines) and lack of a way to actually kniw how much data you have left, I will be porting out of RP in a couple months when my annual plan is completed.

30GB / month for $20. That's very good. I'm paying $20 a line for T-mobile 6GB simple choice.

I did this in March for Iphone 14 pro max. 200 off plus 200 Visa gift card after 3 months. for some reason the VIsa card was delayed but after couple of follow ups they sent it. I can confirm they did not charge tax in PA.
