The product photos just show single appliances plugged into this battery backup. How can it be used a whole home backup?

The dual voltage hub outputs 240V through the included cord to a 30 amp power inlet box that you get wired to your electrical panel through a transfer switch or interlock. This is the same setup you'd use for a portable generator that some people already have.

Would you need to buy two of these? How long does it take if you hook solar up to charge it.

For me, these things are just too costly to be practical. In an extended outage, it's not realistic to use the system to power the entire house (if I want to run a central AC unit), because I can only get a few hours. A portable generator is the way to go - with natural gas or propane as the fuel source - if not wanting to shell out big $$$ to get a whole house generator installed.

this should be well under $.40/wh. $.52/wh is not a deal, period.

Unfortunately they're listed under generators because websites are lazy, and manufacturers want to over promise on marketing claims. They're energy storage when used separately, or part of an energy generation system when attached to solar panels.

I have a small solar array that maxes out at 2kWh, but it got me through more than 3 days of no power after Hurricane Beryl, and I was able to run one of my 4 ton AC units intermittently using a similar battery system.

I've been through 2 major power outages in Houston in the last 4 years, one in winter and one in summer. After the Feb 2021 storm there was a partial failure of the Natural Gas network so some peoples generators stopped working. After Hurricane Beryl some gas stations ran out of fuel and the situation was getting bad, 100 vehicle tailbacks at gas stations, on day 2 and 3 you could see it was getting worse and worse. Thankfully a lot of people got power back around then. The reason I write this is that when people say "just get a generator", they don't mention the down sides, and that's before we get to talk of maintaining a generator, fuel storage, etc.

Everything has its pros and cons, products like these are for more than just power outages.

It appears each unit has 3600Watt hours battery capacity, so a total of 7.2KWh with the 2 units. It is somewhat confusing on the Costco page because the attached literature is for a single unit.

yes, i bought this and returned it last year. i even confirmed via chat (see below) with costco (in writing), that IF i needed to return it, that they would schedule and pay for the pickup and give a full refund. we have no way of returning it. they did it. it was $5400 for this pkg (ours included two remotes too) at that time. at that time and maybe still, this product category did NOT fall under the 90 day return limit, in other words there was no time limit on a possible return. mine was under 90 days anyway. i advise all to do the chat confirmation too, and save it on your computer.

Yes. They sell a smart home panel. All the functionality for load shift is in the app.

I don't disagree. However how I use them is I charge them up with a gas generator that has a runtime of 11 hours. It essentially gives me 14 hours of battery use, then a recharge by the gas generator (about two hours to charge, each) then another 14 hours on battery. Average fuel consumption is 1.5 gallons of fuel per recharge based on my guesstimates.

You buy this kit which includes two of the Delta Pro's for 7.2Kw of battery. You probably don't want to charge these off of solar as it will need a large solar array to charge quickly. I am charging mine in about 8 hours with five panels, given a lot of personal variables. Instead; consider either the alternator charger for emergency charging or a gas generator to charge them as needed. I use both of these methods to charge them and they work great in a pinch.

This is a good deal on 2x delta pro with accessories. HOWEVER, if u want to spend about $1k less - ecoflow ebay refurb on a paired set of 1x delta pro & 1x extra battery (total 7.2 kwh) in a package deal. Currently about $2700 with coupon on page. Refurb warranty is 2 years. New items warranty is 5 years.
