I have the Riviera in the same color with miniHumbuckers. It was worth it at $650 but this seems like a really good deal.

The wood and color, especially the back is so nice in person.

Basically the same company. Only the Epiphone is made over-seas. (Not USA). In my experience the Gibson is built better and of course SUPER expensive. The Epiphone is a nice guitar though. You will never lose getting an Epiphone.
If you look around on-line for these Epiphone ES-335s, they are usually couple hundred more up to pretty high priced for a non USA model. Example: Joe Bonamassa Epiphone model is $1300
There are many Epiphone models that are like Gibson.. Les Paul, SG, etc. If you need a case, there are some around $150
Go for it!

Even MIA Gibson QC is pretty bad these days, which is wild!

If you haven't already done so, it's worth looking into the Heritage brand. Some Gibson employees bought the factory in Michigan when it was supposed to close down. Vintage Gibson sensibilities without the outlandish price tag.

Heritage guitars are nice but they aren't inexpensive by any means. But yea, if you are considering putting money down on a pricey Gibson, they're definitely worth considering.

Same headstock, pickups and CTS pots. On the 335 IBG Guitars the only way to tell is there is a sticker inside the body stating so.

Id buy the OD if I didn't have an ES-339. Great guitars!
