(When viewing the quarterly categories outside of logging in to chase.com, it says info coming soon. However, when logging in to credit card and viewing the details link next to where it shows current categories....see 2nd screenshot I have here.............it shows all the year's categories, including the above Q4 list, which I've attached as pic #1 here.)

Push purchases to PayPal for three months. Walmart.com takes PayPal, as well as most online vendors other than Amazon.

If you haven't hit your $1500 maximum by the end of the quarter, send money to yourself or a family member using PayPal. There's a 2.9% + $0.30 transaction fee, so you pocket 2%.

Edit: I like another posters idea of making a quarterly tax payment using PayPal. 2% fee, pocket 3%. Plus, no risk of it being categorized as a cash advance. https://www.payusatax.com/

You'll get it back with your tax refund.
OP, is this is for Freedom and Freedom Flex cards only? if so, might want to change to "select Chase Freedom cardholders."

This is one of the stranger groups of Chase categories I've seen.
Last years Q4 had Costco and PayPal.

I've already activated with the method described here in the thread so I can't give you specific steps, but log into the Chase website. There will be an option to one-click activate the quarterly cashback, no need to enter your information.

Does anyone know how to use your freedom flex with paypal to maximize rewards?

I use it to buy Verizon GCs to pay my cell phone bill since using a credit card eliminates the auto-pay debit discount. Not sure if this works with other cell phone companies, but it works like a charm with Verizon.

Do you just buy the Verizon gift cards directly from Verizon, or through some other source?

Discover 5% at Walmart is this quarter, not next.

October to December it's Target and Amazon for Discover.
Well, buy the GCs this quarter then. Smilie

What to do?

I'm in the same boat. Wife needs iPhone 16. We're on tmobile simple choice plan. Her current iPhone11 has a little bit of screen damage so can't take advantage of Costco in store tmobile kiosk promos (which seem pretty great otherwise). So I'm gonna wait until Oct 1st, and then buy full priced iPhone 16 on apple.com for 799 plus tax. Checkout with PayPal for 5% chase freedom cash back. And also Apple will take her damaged iPhone11 as trade in for an additional $50 refund. Will pickup the iPhone in store same day. October first is only 9 days away if you can wait.

Anyone else have a better idea of what to do with this screen damaged (glass is not damaged just the lcd) but perfectly working iPhone 11?

Yes I've been paying my county property tax for $4k for last several years dividing between 3 family member cards. I do pay a transaction fee of 2.25%. In end I net 2.75% back. For three years of Covid county was waiting PayPal fee of 2.25% for state of Ga. But since last year we pay that fee. Still worth it in the end.

BofA has secured messages. You can sometimes file a dispute, sometimes they want you to call. Their reps are a disaster either way. So far I've been their customer for well over 30 years, files maybe 4-5 disputes, every single one was denied and had to be chased (o pun intended). Compared to Chase... there is no comparison for credit card customer service.
Where do I send the secured message with BofA?
I don't see it anywhere on their website?

Got an alert today that my Freedom card is automatically getting converted to Freedom Unlimited and that we are losing 5% quarterly categories. Is this for everyone? Can I ask them not to?

I haven't seen anyone mention using the PayPal app on a phone. You link the Freedom cards to the PayPal app as such https://imgur.com/a/vufLnwi, then you can use it at a POS in person at shops that accept PayPal. You have the app produce a QR code and use that to pay. If you want to try it out, all CVS take PayPal and most of them have self check out. You can also look up gas stations that take PayPal at the pump as well. Also in the PayPal app you can click "more in person options" in settings. This shows you a map of places you can pay in person. It's not complete though, and it's mostly CVSs lol.

It's a bit of finagling for sure, but it's kinda easy to max this quarter. I suspect everyone that's sh1tting on this quarter doesn't know or can't be bothered with this. Also not to mention loads of online retailers take PayPal as well. There was something I wanted to buy last week but since this category showed up, I'm putting that on pause until next Tuesday.

Or you can buy $1500 worth of Big Macs. Whatever.
