Chase is offering select Chase Cardholders: 5% Back on Eligible Purchases at McDonald's, Paypal, Pet Shops and Vet Services, Select Charities when you activate this offer on your qualifying card. Offer valid from October 1 to December 31, 2024 for these bonus categories.
Note: The offer can be activated starting September 15th.
(When viewing the quarterly categories outside of logging in to chase.com, it says info coming soon. However, when logging in to credit card and viewing the details link next to where it shows current categories....see 2nd screenshot I have here.............it shows all the year's categories, including the above Q4 list, which I've attached as pic #1 here.)

If you haven't hit your $1500 maximum by the end of the quarter, send money to yourself or a family member using PayPal. There's a 2.9% + $0.30 transaction fee, so you pocket 2%.
Edit: I like another posters idea of making a quarterly tax payment using PayPal. 2% fee, pocket 3%. Plus, no risk of it being categorized as a cash advance. https://www.payusatax.c
You'll get it back with your tax refund.
This is one of the stranger groups of Chase categories I've seen.

I use it to buy Verizon GCs to pay my cell phone bill since using a credit card eliminates the auto-pay debit discount. Not sure if this works with other cell phone companies, but it works like a charm with Verizon.
October to December it's Target and Amazon for Discover.

I'm in the same boat. Wife needs iPhone 16. We're on tmobile simple choice plan. Her current iPhone11 has a little bit of screen damage so can't take advantage of Costco in store tmobile kiosk promos (which seem pretty great otherwise). So I'm gonna wait until Oct 1st, and then buy full priced iPhone 16 on apple.com for 799 plus tax. Checkout with PayPal for 5% chase freedom cash back. And also Apple will take her damaged iPhone11 as trade in for an additional $50 refund. Will pickup the iPhone in store same day. October first is only 9 days away if you can wait.
Anyone else have a better idea of what to do with this screen damaged (glass is not damaged just the lcd) but perfectly working iPhone 11?

What is the costco kiosk promo? I also have the simple choice plan.

Yes I've been paying my county property tax for $4k for last several years dividing between 3 family member cards. I do pay a transaction fee of 2.25%. In end I net 2.75% back. For three years of Covid county was waiting PayPal fee of 2.25% for state of Ga. But since last year we pay that fee. Still worth it in the end.
Forget it.
I don't see it anywhere on their website?

It's a bit of finagling for sure, but it's kinda easy to max this quarter. I suspect everyone that's sh1tting on this quarter doesn't know or can't be bothered with this. Also not to mention loads of online retailers take PayPal as well. There was something I wanted to buy last week but since this category showed up, I'm putting that on pause until next Tuesday.
Or you can buy $1500 worth of Big Macs. Whatever.
