Pre-ordered iPhone 16 Pro today and found that trade-in values for iPhone 12 (all memory configurations) results in $1000 value.

Rather than trade-in my iPhone 13 Pro (256GB) as planned, I purchased a refurbished iPhone 12 (64GB for $254 (including tax) and put it on the order as my trade-in. I will then attempt to sell my iPhone 13 Pro for $400+. Not a huge money maker, but I'd rather get as much as possible out of the offer.

Note: iPhone 12 mini does not seem to be valued at $1k

You could have bought a new iphone 12 from metro for $130 instead of paying 200+ for the same phone, fwiw.

This is ideal for someone staying with at&t and happy to use an iPhone 16 Pro for 36 months.

I just assumed activation would be required and didn't want the hassle. No?

Would expect activation takes but a few minutes.

So you will be stuck on $76 + taxes & fees monthly plan for 36 months just to save $20 a month on equipment charges?

Not even close... Family plan with employee discount and subsidized phones after trade - ins. Currently paying about $127 per month for four top of the line phones and good service. Not leaving at&t. Wondering what you perceive as a better strategy?

This is a solid incentive. If only I had decent ATT coverage at my house.

I had my eye on this. Am nearing the end of my 3 year contract on ATT with my Iphone 13 Pro. I went ahead and repaired the rear glass in preparation for a trade-in.

Later after reading more closely, I noticed 2 things. It says you only need $180 trade in value to get the $1000 credit (Maybe I didn't need to repair my phone after all). It also says that you need to upgrade or open a new line. Anyone have any personal experience on if that second part is a hard and fast rule? I don't want to let go of my current plan.

after trade in, still ask for $67.40/mo, 3 years contract, with a locked device.
i am using $25 MVNO plan, so, ($67-$25)*12*3 = $1512.
what a joke

It sucks for those that took a chance on an apple experiment that failed and we're not getting any value in return. I don't expect it but it would be nice for Apple to acknowledge that the mini was a failure for them.

13 mini still gets top trade in value
