A 1500 x 2100 image will get you best results for 5x7.
You want to make sure your image has a resolution of 300ppi so that the 300dpi printer outputs a crisp image.
Add empty space with photo editing software to preserve the resolution.
I used https://www.photopea.com/ to create a 1500x2100 canvas and filled up the space.
You will get bad results if you submit a low or overly high resolution photo to be printed.
If you type in the code MAGNETS79 it works just fine. It won't work if you use the OP's copy link. The code is valid thru 9/17. I just uploaded a variety of photos- (9) 5x7 size, for $7.10....
thank you so much. just got back from hawaii so i made a bunch

As far as quality, your issue may be that with Walgreens there's a box to tick for full resolution. BIG difference…Upload preferences, select full resolution, not sure why that isn't on by default, but it isn't. And remove redeye is on by default. I turn that off.
I'd had both - I've had good quality photo magnets printed and poor ones. It's best if you want one, to take a moment and look at what you get when you pick it up - if it's lousy, you can at least ask them to redo it.

Just picked up mine... and yeah it was $1 but damn the quality sucks. Just threw it in the trash when I got home.
Yeah quality drops year over year it seems. I typically print a few picture magnets at the end of summer to stick on the fridge - of the kid, family, places etc. I haven't taken part in this specific deal but just printed a few a couple weeks ago and it looked worse than what I have stuck on the fridge from last year and the year before.
